Did You Know...

... that Arizona Airspeed have no competition at this point in time?

Arizona Airspeed at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022

posted Apr 11th, 2022 - Arizona Airspeed impressed the live audience at Paraclete XP and the international NSL News online audience more than enough at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022. The new definition of the team's style was created at the Paraclete event when the word "Airspeed Machine" made the rounds regularly.

It was not any different after the ten outdoor rounds of the Shamrock Showdown in March, and Arizona Airspeed launched their strongest indoor/outdoor start of a new year in the team's history. The new indoor record average of 34.6 was logically not a surprise. In fact, Airspeed were ready to challenge the 35-point benchmark, as Niklas Hemlin confirmed during the NSL Live Talk with the complete lineup after the completion of Round 10 and before the award ceremony in Charleroi.

Only the three point deductions in Round 2 and a few hiccups, which are hardly visible for the audience, were in the way of the first 35-point average for Arizona Airspeed. NMP PCH HayaBusa is still the only team with a 35+ average, which they posted a few times with the world champion lineup of 2016 - 2018.

Niklas Hemlin and his current team mates explained how the team is trying to move forward, even though there is literally no competition yet for the new world cup champions, who have now officially re-claimed the indoor and outdoor top spots in the United States, and they are on the way to do the same on the international world level.

NMP PCH HayaBusa did the same between 2014 and 2021, even though Arizona Airspeed has been challenging the Belgians all the way through this time period with different lineups. The current lineup, with new members Joey Marshall and Chris Kuhlmann, have currently taken an even more dominating position than HayaBusa had it for eight years.

Arizona Airspeed have attended three events this year so far, and the closest team, the French Aerokart Ak'demie senior team in 4-way Open, finished 29 points behind the 1st place at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022. NMP PCH HayaBusa were 50 points behind Airspeed at the Shamrock Showdown 2022 and reduced the distance to 37 points in Charleroi. Airspeed had won the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022 by 84 points in February.

The Qatar Tigers did not compete in Charleroi, and they might have changed the outcome on the top level somehow, while it is unlikely that they could have threatened Arizona Airspeed more than the other top teams. It's been a while since they measured up with Airspeed last time. It was the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 when they ended up 39 points behind Airspeed's current lineup.

It will surely be important for Arizona Airspeed to find a way how to keep moving, as there is not a lot of pressure from behind at this point in time.
