posted Apr 17th, 2022 - The HF Cubs have been filling the NSL News with content for several years. The Czech 2019 world champions in 4-way Junior and new world cup champions in 4-way Women deserve all the credit that has been given for their progression from 4-way teenagers in 2015 to the currently best 4-way Women indoor team in the world.

However, reducing the impressive performances of the HF Cubs only to their former (4-way Junior) and current (4-way Women) events would not even do enough justice and would miss the real proportion of the Czech team in the 4-way indoor world.

It is amazing enough that the team won the world championship title in 4-way Junior three years ago and followed up with FAI gold medals in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022. The real proportion of the 28.5 average for the 1st place in 4-way Women still comes only to the surface with a closer look at the combined 4-way leaderboard.

The HF Cubs would position themselves in 4th place, right behind the world's three 4-way powerhouses. Only the Qatar Tigers may have had enough potential to interfere with the ranking order on the combined leaderboard. Nephtys had the 5th place at the end of the first day and until Round 9 before allowing ISR FireFlash to reverse the order in Round 10.

It has rarely happened in the history of indoor competition that 4-way Women teams were showing their strength like they did in Charleroi, as the NSL News pointed out after Round 4 on April 7th.

The French Weembi Girls, with current Nephtys member Pamela Lissajoux in the lineup, dominated the 4-way Women event between 2017 and 2018, after the female lineup of the Golden Knights had the top spot in 2015 and 2016. The 2nd place of the U.S. Army team on the combined leaderboard of the FAI Indoor World Meet 2015 was the highest placement of a 4-way Women team at an FAI indoor event.

FAI Indoor competition was still in the beginnings at that time, and there was not even a 4-way Junior event at the first indoor world meet at the Hurricane Factory. However, Jan Klapka's 4-way junior project was already in place, and two of his junior teams competed at the indoor world meet.

Sabina Ciolekova and Viktorie Novakova posted the HF Cubs scores on the AAA/4-way Open Class leaderboard in 2015, before the 4-way Junior category was added to the event format at FAI/ISC events. Seven years later, they were back on the AAA/4-way Women leaderboard and won the FAI gold medals.

The HF Cubs were back at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 for the first official FAI/ISC competition in 4-way Junior. Three of the current 4-way Women world cup champions (Sabina Ciolekova, Viktorie Novakova, Adela Vesela) were now in the 4-way Junior lineup of 2016, and they placed 5th with a 16.3 average for the 8-round AA Class draw.

It was the same event where the French 4-way Women team (Pamela Lissajoux, Clementine Le Bohec, Christine Malnis, Sophia Pecout) won the 4-way Women competition and shared the 3rd place on the combined AAA/4-way Open/4-way Women leaderboard with the French national team in 4-way Open.

Both French teams finished with a 27.9 average when Jan Klapka was working on the final lineup of the HF Cubs for 2019 and 2022. This year's world cup champion lineup, with Karolina Henkova as the 4th member, finally came together at the beginning of 2019. They started with a 20.7 average on the AAA Class leaderboard of the Czech Tunnel League before winning the AA/4-way Junior competition at the indoor world meet in 2019. Three years later, they are officially the 4th best 4-way indoor team in the world, including all 4-way Open and 4-way Women teams...
