Did You Know...

... that the Czech 4-way Junior world cup champions posted the ICL AAA Class scores for April?

Only Indoor Cloud League 4-way seniors in 2013
posted May 2nd, 2022 - The NSL News reported a very special occasion on 13 September 2021. The complete set of the Czech Indoor Cloud League scores for the month of September were generated by 4-way juniors at the Hurricane Factory.

The Czech Indoor Cloud League team began its regular participation before Jan Klapka launched the 4-way junior program, and the scores and videos of the early years were generated by senior 4-way teams and competitors only.

It did not take too long until his 4-way junior program became very successful and changed the balance between seniors and juniors year by year. Jan Klapka used the Indoor Cloud League events and the regular World Tunnel League competitions efficiently for the development of his 4-way junior program, and the peak was the ICL month of August 2021 when all scores were generated by Czech 4-way juniors.

It was almost the same situation in the following month of September 2021. The lineup of 4-way junior teams included the HF Cubs though, who had actually moved up into the 4-way senior world and were in preparation for the 4-way Women competition at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022.

AAA Class scores for Indoor Cloud League: HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons
All Czech Indoor Cloud League scores in August and September last year were generated completely and exclusively by current and former 4-way juniors, as the senior teams and competitors use the summer months mainly to jump from planes instead of flying in the wind tunnel chamber. Some of the HF Cubs members have begun with outdoor training, as well, while they are still mostly training and competing for indoor events.

The winter season has always mixed up the Czech teams on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboards, as it happened once again in April. Last month's leaderboard is showing a total of ten different teams competing for the highest scores for the six different ICL categories.

Eight of the ten teams have 4-way junior lineups, and only two were senior teams. HF Cubs, 4-way Women indoor world cup winners, and HF Flying Circus, bronze medalists of the European Indoor Championship, took a well deserved break in April. They usually contribute world class scores for the two 4-way Open Class sequences (AAA/AA) of the Indoor Cloud League format. However, Jan Klapka has prepared the next Czech 4-way generation to perform the complete FAI dive pool. HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons stepped in and took on the AAA and AA sequences.

The 4-way Junior world cup winners, HF Flying Rebels, won this internal duel, as they did at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022, where HF Chameleons placed in the bronze medal position.

Both teams performed the A Class sequence, as well, where they outscored all other Czech teams by far. However, they are not eligible any longer for A Class sequences, and Rusalky posted the 23-pointer in this category. Jan Klapka is facing once again the situation where his 4-way juniors are advancing quickly and score beyond the categories' limitations. HF Dragonflies and HF Invisible cannot post scores for the three Rookie Class categories (RRR - RR - R) any longer and have to try to get close the other well trained junior teams.

Jan Klapka still has enough 4-way juniors, and the success of his program generates new participants on a regular basis. The Czech 4-way seniors have to work hard to keep up with the junior progression. Senior team Loosers managed to win the RR Class competition in April, which counts as a major success. The NSL News visited a junior training day at the Hurricane Factory after the indoor world cup. Some of the April sequences were probably performed at that time.
