posted Jun 7th, 2022 - The NSL News pointed out just a few days ago that Czech FAI bronze medalist at the FAI European Indoor Championships, HF Flying Circus, were the only team on the indoor leaderboard who were back for outdoor competition last weekend.

HF Flying Circus have attended seven 10-round meets between January and beginning of June, and they seem to be on the way to set a new participation record this year. Their last 10-round meet was the first outdoor competition in the Czech Republic in 2022.

In addition to the seven 10-round meets, HF Flying Circus have also performed the AAA and AA sequences for the Czech Indoor Cloud League team at the Hurricane Factory and contributed heavily to each monthly total, except for the ICL competition in April.

In fact, HF Flying Circus scored a total of 167 ICL points of the 661 that the Hurricane Factory has accumulated on the 2022 account at this point in time. The HF Cubs, 4-way Women indoor world cup champions, have added 27 points to the Czech account. Both teams have faced each other six times on the ICL leaderboards this year, and HF Flying Circus are ahead by 13 points (140 - 127).

The HF Cubs have clearly the upper hand (1565-1459) at the 10-round meets that both teams have attended together, including the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022, where they were on different leaderboards while performing the same ten sequences.

Both teams competed at six 10-round meets this year, and the HF Cubs just missed the ten outdoor rounds last weekend in Most. They did not really miss them, as they are simply not trained yet for outdoor training and competition, after their transition from 4-way Junior to 4-way Women. Only team member Sabina Ciolekova has already attended a few outdoor competitions with the Dream Team.

Two of the three teams who attended last weekend's first outdoor competition of the year in Most (HF Flying Circus, M Team) had taken on the Indoor Cloud League sequences of May before. The HF Cubs did not participate last month, and HF Flying Circus had the AAA/AA sequences for themselves. Jan Klapka's M Team had their own AAA/AA/A senior duel with Accord on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard. M Team won the AAA/AA combination, while Accord posted the highest A Class score.

4-way junior teams HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons both have scored 25 points twice and are not eligible any longer for A Class sequences. They are now in direct Indoor Cloud League competition with HF Flying Circus and HF Cubs.

The new lineup of the HF Flying Rebels can win FAI medals again in 4-way Junior next year, now with new member Violeta Demeterova, as the NSL News reported on May 25th, and HF Chameleons continue in the same category. The FAI dive pool and rules in 4-way Junior are identical with the AA Class, and both Czech junior teams could still perform the A Class sequences of the Indoor Cloud League.

However, Jan Klapka has assigned both teams once again to the AAA/AA dive pool and rules and challenges them with the more difficult sequences of the complete dive pool, including 6-point rounds and slot-switchers. Jan Klapka's strategy of challenging his 4-way juniors early with AAA sequences has generated the last two FAI 4-way Junior gold medals for the Czech Republic in 2019 and 2022. He has no reason to change his plan. The HF Chameleons could not keep up with HF Flying Circus in May. However, they outscored once again the two other senior teams easily.
