Did You Know...

... that Skydive Midwest NEXT resume Indoor Cloud League activities this month?

Skydive Midwest NEXT at the Shamrock Showdown 2021
posted Jul 13th, 2022 - Skydive Midwest NEXT was the only AAA Class team at the SDC Cloud Games, and they used the great opportunity of a competition draw with a Super Sequence in Round 6 (A,P,N,G,F) to finish with a new team record average.

NEXT actually have a 19.8 average in the team records, which they had posted at the Shamrock Showdown 2021. The competition draw for the event at Skydive City in March last year also included a Super Sequence in Round 2 (Q,K,D,H,L) and allowed the boosted meet average in an even easier way.

The weather allowed only the completion of four rounds, and the Super Sequence had an even more significant impact on the meet average. This time, all participating teams completed ten rounds, and the Super Sequence had only the usual boosting effect on the meet average.

The Shamrock Showdown 2021 had been the first outdoor competition for the new NEXT lineup, and they followed up in June at last year's Cloud Games with the first 10-round results (16.4) for an average draw. Exactly a year later, NEXT posted the new team record average for a 10-round meet.

Skydive Midwest NEXT had other good news that they shared at the beginning of the month with the NSL News and their Midwest following. The team members will resume their Indoor Cloud League activities that they rested at the end of May 2021 when pandemic and iFLY regulations made it difficult to continue.

Skydive Midwest NEXT had launched their Indoor Cloud League team and events in August 2020 with a strong entry of three monthly highscores in the last five months of the year. The ICL Midwest team then won each month between February and May 2021, after missing scores on the January leaderboard.

The comeback begins with the second half of the year. Lauren Byrd said that her team has scheduled Indoor Cloud League events for July, August and September.

The ICL Midwest team will probably not be able to catch up with the other ICL teams, while the scores and performances will surely be very competitive again.

Joanna and the Creepers at the MWSL May meet
This year's SDC Cloud Games featured an exciting AA Class competition with teams that may be targeting a position in medal contention on the Intermediate Class leaderboard of the USPA Nationals. The host of the Cloud Games, Skydive Chicago, will also welcome all 4-way teams to the national championships in September.

Anion Flux XP and CSC Constellation both competed last year at the USPA Nationals, and they will be back with different lineups at Skydive Chicago. Air Raid XP was formed this year, and the new team recently posted the A Class highscore for Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League team in June.

Joanna and the Creepers won the AA Class competition of the SDC Cloud Games with a significantly higher meet average compared to the team's earlier scores at the Midwest Skydiving League event in May. Nate Handegan, Ken Serine and Brennan Smith may return at this weekend's MWSL meet with player-coach Keith Conner. Then they will have to recruit a different team mate if they plan to compete at the USPA Nationals. Keith Conner is the Inside Center for SDC Rhythm XP, and he will try to win 4-way AAA/Open Class medals at the USPA Nationals with his own team...
