Did You Know...

... that the new XPG4 videos feature reigning 8-way world champions and a AA Class competitor of 2021?

No outdoor scores yet this year: SDC Rhythm XP
posted Jul 29th, 2022 - The eleven rounds of Skydive Midwest NEXT were a part of the first half of the Pre-Nationals 2022, and the second half begins with the videos that XPG4 submitted to the NSL Cloud. The scores are not available yet, as InTime has scheduled the judging for the time after the completion of the whole event. However, the videos have been uploaded, and the home judges can already begin with their own evaluation.

The first two sets of AAA Class videos feature two of the U.S. top teams who are aiming at USPA medals in 4-way Open this year. Arizona Airspeed are probably out of reach for any other U.S. teams, while Skydive Midwest NEXT and XPG4 will most likely have additional opposition in their pursuit of USPA medal positions.

SDC Rhythm XP's new lineup was not far behind Skydive Midwest NEXT, neither at this year's Paraclete XP Indoor Championship nor at the FAI Indoor World Cup, even though it was a larger gap at Airspace Charleroi in Belgium in April.

25.0 average at the FAI Tanay Mondial: Bubbles
Even without a stop watch and professional evaluation by FAI judges, the new videos of the XPG4 outdoor performance are showing a team that seems to be well prepared for this year's outdoor season.

XPG4 is not only aiming at USPA medals. They also plan to win FAI gold medals in 4-way Women just a month later.

On top of the challenging situation in 4-way Women, where France (Nephtys) and Great Britain (NFTO) will be just as well prepared as XPG4, Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon are also members of the Paraclete XP 8-way team, who are the top contenders for the next set of FAI gold medals, after winning at the FAI Tanay Mondial in August last year.

They will have very long days switching back and forth between 4-way and 8-way at the world meet, and it is very difficult to prepare for this situation. The same events are separated at USPA Nationals, where the 8-way competition begins only after the 4-way event has been completed.

The XPG4 videos are showing Jeana Billings (Outside Center) and Michelle Karamon (Point) working together in the front piece this year.

Michelle Karamon switched from Inside Center to Point when Anna Brunner joined the team at the beginning of the year. This move brought together the two newest XPG4 members (Brenn Richards, Anna Brunner) in the rear piece, while the two senior members are front piece partners.

The XPG4 videos of the most recent eleven competition rounds also provide a new impression of new Inside Center Anna Brunner, who performed her first ten meet rounds with her new team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022. She was still competing in the AA/Intermediate Class in 2021 and won USPA gold medals with Kaos Theory XP and a 13.8 average in this category.

Almost exactly a year later, she will try to win FAI gold medals in 4-way Women at a world championship, and it will probably require at least a AAA Class average of 22+ for the top spot. Russian team Bubbles won FAI gold last year with a 25.0 average after six faster rounds, two points ahead of France.

It's a long way from 13.8 in AA to 22+ in AAA within a year, and Anna Brunner seems to be ready for that. The scores of Skydive Midwest NEXT were posted last weekend, and XPG4's will follow as soon as possible. Then both teams will face each other again at the USPA Nationals in September.
