posted Aug 30th, 2022 - Last and not least of last weekend's national championship events, the 4-way teams in Italy completed their scheduled ten rounds. The skydiving center in Fano hosted the event once again, and the competition videos feature the scenic coastline of the Adriatic Sea, the part of the Mediterranean Sea on the eastern side of Italy.

Amnesya won the 4-way title as easily as Chimera in Great Britain and Aerodyne Cypres Lille in France. None of the three national teams in 4-way Open for the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving in October had any serious opposition, even though former opponents still competed at the same events.

The NSL News mentioned that the French 4-way Open Class teams had to outscore the country's 4-way Women teams in the past before taking the top spot, and Eros have been contending for the British medals on the domestic leaderboards in the past years.

Amnesya's strongest annual opponent, Ex3MO, were back again, as well, and finished in 2nd place. This placing order at the national championships has been the same every year since 2017, when eX3MO won their last national 4-way title. Michele Silvi, youngest Amnesya member by then, Outside Center for 4-way world champion NMP PCH HayaBusa by now, had just joined the Amnesya lineup when Ex3MO won the last time. The Italian 4-way champions then had to replace Michele Silvi and still defended their national top spot successfully with different lineups against the same Ex3MO opponent and their changing team members.

Amnesya, Chimera and the French 4-way Open team will soon meet each other at Skydive Arizona for the outdoor world meet. The French national team seems to be too far ahead for the two amateur teams from Great Britain and Italy, and French national coach Mathieu Bernier may even have hopes to get into medal contention in 4-way Open with the new lineup.

Chimera and Amnesya are much closer to each other, while both teams had to deal with their own respective obstacles. Chimera were facing extremely tough judging standards at the British national championships. They were actually confirming the 20-average level that they indicated at the 5-round meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League in June, before losing ten points in the judging room.

Amnesya had to exit from the right-hand door of the Pilatus Porter, as they do every year at the national championships. They could only launch the Star (Random Formation M) in Round 1 and the Zircon (Block 18) in Round 8 for the first formations of the respective sequences. All other rounds began with a standard exit formation for Amnesya.

Italy's national 4-way team will switch back to exits from a left-hand door for the final preparations for the world meet. Chimera and coach Niklas Hemlin will be working on the penalty situation, and both teams could face each other on the same scoring level at the world meet.
