Did You Know...

... that there are also indoor and outdoor double-duties?

iFLY Colorado Springs Indoor Cloud League August team
posted Sep 5th, 2022 - It did not take too long until other new Indoor Cloud League scores were added to the August leaderboard. The current leaderboard features the two newest teams, before the missing scores will be posted by teams who have participated for years.

The iFLY Colorado Springs team joined the Indoor Cloud League this year, as the NSL News reported first time on May 28th. The most recent update covered the new record total that the iFLY Colorado Springs team posted for the month of August.

The ICL Midwest team had joined the Indoor Cloud League in May 2020 under the guidance and management of the Skydive Midwest NEXT members. Their team became instantly competitive and won three of the five last monthly competitions in 2020.

The streak continued with four more consecutive monthly highscores at the beginning of 2021 before ICL Midwest had to withdraw after facing growing logistical problems at their home chamber. There were no new scores or videos from ICL Midwest for the remainder of the year. It took additional six months this year until ICL Midwest were ready for a comeback, which happened simultaneously with the beginning of hibernation for the Czech ICL team at the Hurricane Factory. ICL Midwest came back with vengeance and the next highscore for July 2022, two points ahead of the iFLY Dallas team.

Indoor Cloud League August 2022: ICL Midwest - iFLY Colorado Springs
ICL Midwest Indoor Cloud League August team
Skydive Midwest NEXT is one of the top contenders for USPA medals in 4-way Open this year, and the national championships are just around the corner. The team members have to balance challenging double-duties in a different way than the usual terminology by the NSL News.

"Double-duties" has been the topic in the past for teams and competitors who switch back and forth between 4-way and 8-way at world championships and world cups. However, the regular transition between indoor and outdoor training and events during the summer and outdoor season is challenging, as well. Only 4-way juniors and exclusive indoor seniors are not facing these kind of double-duties.

In fact, outdoor teams and competitors put their main efforts and focus on exits from jump planes and sub-terminal pages when it gets closer to the main outdoor events. Skydive Midwest NEXT members Gorka Amian and Greg Oldendick still managed the August event of the ICL Midwest team and completed their leaderboard with six scores and videos.

Paraclete's XPG4 4-way Women lineup is in the same situation with their Indoor Cloud League team, and two members (Jeana Billings, Michelle Karamon) have to manage the "traditional" double-duties of 4-way and 8-way training and competition at the same time. Despite the double double-duties, XPG4 still managed to complete their own Indoor Cloud League events in July and August, and the scores and videos will be added as soon as possible, as well.
