... that the Kaos Theory XP story continues?

Last meet for Kaos Theory XP: USPA Nationals 2021

posted Sep 24th, 2022 - The story of U.S. 4-way team Kaos Theory XP has been documented carefully by the NSL News, and it was well worth it. The team caught the attention of the NSL News first time after an exciting 1-point battle for the AA/Intermediate Class gold medals at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020.

The Barhons, a pickup team for the event, won, and F-5 moved on with the new team name, Kaos Theory XP. The road was paved well, as four of the team members explained during a NSL Live Talk conversation after the completion of the USPA Nationals earlier this month. They said that the team "gelled" very well, which explains mostly the impressive progress.

However, the team's senior member, Jason McClure, and videographer Charlie McGee both said that it became instantly obvious that there was a lot of talent in the lineup at the same time. The great team dynamics and the talent together almost guaranteed the success of the team and the potential for very promising careers in Formation Skydiving competition.

It did not take very long until the first success materialized. The NSL News story on 3 October 2020 followed up with the Kaos Theory XP plans for the 2021 season, and the same lineup turned the silver medals of 2020 at Paraclete XP into gold at the 2021 event a year later.

Outstanding yellow jumpsuit: Carl Kallgren
The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021 was the beginning of a very exciting year for Kaos Theory XP that ended with another 1-point battle at the USPA Nationals 2021. Again it was Dallas Dynasty who challenged Kaos Theory XP at the outdoor competition, after an 11-point advantage for the indoor champions in February.

In the meantime, the team members had already caught the attention of interested observers. It was not only the color of Carl Kallgren's jumpsuit, as Anna Brunner jokingly mentioned, which stood out at indoor and outdoor events that Kaos Theory XP attended.

SDC Rhythm XP's team captain Doug Barron recognized the talent and contacted Carl Kallgren after the end of the 2021 season, as he was recruiting the new Rhythm lineup. Carl Kallgren was surprised and discussed the situation with his former team mate, Charlie McGee.

The Kaos Theory XP videographer was not very surprised. In fact, he had decided earlier to join SDC Rhythm XP and waited with his own news until the USPA Nationals 2021 were over. He encouraged his team mate to return Doug Barron's message as soon as possible.

CReW gold medals: Jason McClure with Jorts Jettison
The new NSL Live Talk, which was recorded after the USPA Nationals 2022 were completed, features the individual stories of all team members, except for Preston James, who took a break this year. Of course, he followed his former team mates' progress, as Jason McClure did.

Carl Kallgren and Charlie McGee are now team mates for SDC Rhythm XP, and Anna Brunner completed the current XPG4 lineup. They went through a very competitive 10-round championship duel as opponents, which was a 1-point battle until Round 8. Carl Kallgren and Charlie McGee with SDC Rhythm XP eventually won by seven points.

Anna Brunner said that her team was using the USPA Nationals as a serious test for the upcoming FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving, where XPG4 will compete for the gold medals in 4-way Women. Carl Kallgren and Charlie McGee plan to challenge Arizona Airspeed for the U.S. top spot in 4-way Open next year and qualify for the next outdoor world meet in 2024.

Jason McClure had turned to his other favorite skydiving event at the end of the Kaos Theory XP time. He loves Canopy Relative Work (CReW) and competed at the USPA Nationals, as well. His team Jorts Jettison won gold medals in 4-way Open Rotation. His 4-way Open Sequential team, Frog Modified, won additional silver medals. He said that he may come back from the dark side at some point...
