Did You Know...

... that 4-way Women teams NFTO and Meltemi still have clean scoresheets after Round 5?

The only three marks on NFTO scoresheets
posted Oct 23rd, 2022 - The NSL News already pointed out on October 21st that the leader in 4-way Women, NFTO, had no point deductions on their scoresheets throughout Round 3. Only the German national team in 4-way Women matched the clean performance at that point in time.

Airbus and Mojo Annecy-Clermont were performing just as cleanly in 8-way as the two 4-way Women teams did, and they both added another clean round. It was over for Airbus with the disastrous Round 5, and the end of a penalty-free competition came for the French 8-way team in Round 6.

There has been no end yet for the same two teams in 4-way Women. NFTO and Meltemi are now the only teams in Formation Skydiving competition who have not lost a point in the judging room yet. NFTO clearly outperform the German 4-way Women team, not only in scoring numbers per round. Four of the five NFTO rounds don't even have any marks on the scoresheets. Three different judges marked penalties at two different spots in Round 3, which did not accumulate to a point deduction.

It is logically more challenging for NFTO to keep the scoresheets clean, as the 4-way Women leader is going on a much faster pace than Meltemi. The British team is 26 points ahead of the Germans after Round 5, which indicates that the pace is 5.2 average points (21.6 - 16.4) faster.

Only four 4-way teams have been going on a faster pace than NFTO (Arizona Airspeed, NMP PCH HayaBusa, France, Qatar Tigers), as the NSL News pointed out on October 21st with the combined AAA Class leaderboard.

Arizona Airspeed and the French national team in 4-way Open are close to NFTO with only one point deduction. Arizona Airspeed's clean performance almost matches NFTO's dominance in 4-way Women. Airspeed is 14 points ahead of HayaBusa after Round 4, which equals a difference of 3.5 average points per round. It may be even more impressive, as it separates the team in 2nd place from the U.S. leader.

NFTO are only nine points ahead of the French Nephtys in 2nd place after Round 5, which equals a 1.8 difference per round.

The British national team in 4-way Women have set the standard for Round 5 with their 25-pointer. Australia's 4-way Open Class team Ripper has posted the highest score on the other AAA leaderboard with their 21-pointer for the same sequence in Round 5. The Top 10 teams in 4-way Open will follow up on Monday morning - if the weather allows the early start.
