Did You Know...

... that the Great Lakes Skydiving League starts in 2000?

GLSL training camp with Dan BC at Aerohio
posted Oct 10th, 1999 - The Great Lakes Skydiving League is preparing its inaugural season. The GLSL will run four meets in the 2000 season. The date for the first meet has been set for June 23-25, 2000.

League sponsor Aerohio will host this meet. Other skydiving centers in the area are still welcome to join the league. Mark Belmont is the league's director. Sherry Butcher of Aerohio is supporting Belmont's efforts. He has already worked on putting things together for a while.

The plan for the first meet at Aerohio is including a six-day skills camp with Arizona Airspeed on June 17-22, just prior to the competition. The curriculum of the skills camp focuses on the skills necessary for all formation skydiving including, basic body flight, randoms, block techniques, exits, swooping, tracking, and team work.

The camp will focus on learning in an atmosphere of fun. Much attention will be paid to the skill of learning and working together as a team.

Participants are encouraged to register as a team so that they can practice and learn together for the entire camp including the June 23-25 meet. Participants who are having trouble getting a team together will find people of similar skills and motivation on site.

Each Airspeed coach will work with a maximum of three teams, giving each person personal attention on every jump. The coaches will rotate throughout the camp in an effort to bring out the best from each person, both individually and as a team member.

Participating teams will continue to have thorough coaching and engineering by Airspeed's Dan BC throughout the competition, so the learning will not end after the skills camp. Further information will be posted as soon as possible. Contact: Mark Belmont, info@aerohio.com
