SkyVenture New Hampshire Indoor Fest comeback in 2022
posted Jan 17th, 2023 - The NSL News announced the comeback of the SkyVenture New Hampshire Indoor Fest with the preview on 28 December 2021. It was another comeback effort of an event after the implications of the corona virus crisis.

The review of the competition on 9 February 2022 provided background information of the event's history and details of the successful comeback. The number of teams last year was not even close to the record numbers before the break. However, the 13 teams at SkyVenture New Hampshire were at least showing that the popular event was happening again, and the message was heard.

The most recent update from the event host was showing 19 registered teams for this year's indoor competition, which is a significant step forward in the direction of the number of teams at the same event before the restrictions and regulations of the pandemic interfered with any event operation.

The leaderboard with the currently registered field is also showing five teams with a scoring history in the NSL News records. Four of them have competed at SkyVenture New Hampshire before, and AA Class team SNE Gripswitch is new to the event.

Snatch Force lineup at the SVNH Indoor Fest 2022
SNE Gripswitch are actually the reigning champions in the A/Beginner Class of the USPA Nationals 2022. They have to step up into the AA/Intermediate Class and are using the SkyVenture New Hampshire Indoor Fest to post the first scores in their new category.

The team from Skydive New England is familiar with the hosting windtunnel, as the team members, and now also the complete lineup, have been training in the 12-foot flying chamber.

They will be facing two experienced indoor teams in the AA Class competition. Snatch Force and Foxy & the Hounds both have competed at the same event in the past.

In fact, both teams were back for the comeback last year, Snatch Force in the AA Class, Foxy & the Hounds in the A Class.

Both teams also posted 18-meet averages in their respective categories. Foxy & the Hounds now have to carry the same pace over to the more challenging AA Class dive pool for the 12-foot flying chamber that meet director Ben Liston has created for this category and the other three.

Flying Spaghetti Monsters at the SVNH Indoor Fest 2020
An even more interesting situation can be expected in the AAA Class, with the even more challenging dive pool and sequences. Flying Spaghetti Monsters and SNE Fly Girls both competed at the same event in 2020 and were separated by only five points after the ten rounds.

They were not far behind the winner, Total Compliance, with meet director Ben Liston and judge Jim Rees in the lineup. The current preview leaderboard indicates that both teams may compete for the 1st place this year. The 2020 event was the last one for Spaghetti Flying Monsters, and Roger Cunha, Dave Grabowski and Andre Van Heerden were still looking for a 4th team member at the time of the update from SkyVenture New Hampshire.

SNE Fly Girls competed again last year at the same event and then in 4-way Open at the USPA Nationals.

There are also question marks behind the strong Cornerstone Plus lineup and John Silva's Up In The Air. All four registered AAA Class teams could be in the run for the top position in this category.
