posted Jan 20th, 2023 - The Czech Indoor Open 2023 did not only feature the country's three national 4-way indoor teams for the upcoming FAI Indoor World Championship 2023, HF Flying Circus in 4-way Open, HF Cubs in 4-way Women, HF Flying Rebels in 4-way Junior, as the NSL News reported on January 18th. The same event also had new record participation with a total of 22 teams at the Hurricane Factory in Prague.

Five guest teams from four different countries joined the 17 Czech teams on their home turf for the national indoor championship. The two guest teams in the AAA Class competition, Bronteroc from Hungary and Fire Phoenix from Italy, will both meet the three Czech national teams at the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia in Slovakia for the indoor world championship.

There they will not be on the same leaderboard, as they were in Prague. Bronteroc will compete in 4-way Open in Slovakia, where they will meet HF Flying Circus. They had shared the same 4-way Open Class leaderboard at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022, as well, with HF Flying Circus finishing in 6th place (26.0) and Bronteroc 17th (23.3) in Charleroi.

Italy's Fire Phoenix compete in 4-way Women, as the NSL News reported on 21 December 2022. They will be able to watch the next ten meet rounds of the HF Cubs live in action, who will try to take the 1st place again, as they did in 4-way Junior in 2019 and in Charleroi last year.

Neither Bronteroc nor Fire Phoenix will have to deal with the HF Flying Rebels again in Slovakia, who placed 3rd on the AAA Class leaderboard at the Czech Indoor Open. The 4-way juniors will have their own leaderboard with AA Class sequences at the same event. Bronteroc managed to split the two Czech 4-way junior teams (Flying Rebels - Chameleons) on the AAA Class leaderboard by outscoring the Chameleons by four points (217 – 213).

Both visiting guest teams from Hungary and Italy will have significantly shorter travel distances to Slovakia, compared to Charleroi in Belgium last year for Bronteroc, and Fire Phoenix to the Netherlands last November for the ISR Grand Prix, or to Poland for the Flyspot Open.

The other three visiting teams came from Slovakia (Kiss My Grips - Gang Bang Slavnica) and Great Britain (Vortex). The Skydive University team from Slovakia had represented the host of the upcoming indoor world championship at the previous event in Weembi Lille 2019, and they won the national indoor championship last year with competition only in AA and A Class.

AA Class team Kiss My Grips was not on last year's Slovakian leaderboard, where Gang Bang finished tied in 3rd place. One of the teams has to step up to AAA Class competition to represent Slovakia in 4-way Open at the indoor world championship in their home chamber. The Skydive University team has plenty of AAA Class meet experiences and might be the top candidate.
