Did You Know...

... that the New England Skydiving League has posted rules and basic information for the inaugural 2000 season?

NESL enthusiasm: Pepperell Expedition
posted Mar 5th, 2000 - The first set of NESL rules are following the basic outline of the National Skydiving League. They are specified according to the regional needs of the new league.

The Pepperell Skydive Center and Skydive New England are the first hosts for two meets each. The dates are posted at the New England Skydiving League home page on Skyleague.com and the NSL Calendar 2000. League direcor Beth Murray was introducing the new league:

"Following the formation and success of the National Skydiving League (NSL), a new regional league to service the New England area is being established. The new regional league hopes to promote and improve the level of skydiving in the area and bring about a friendly, competitive atmosphere for skydiving in New England. We intend to expand the horizons of the competitors to a world encompassing many skydivers from a variety of drop zones, where they can have fun through the spirit of competition, and most importantly, learn from each other. We hope that this will help promote skydiving and expose beginning skydivers to high levels of flying skill to which they can strive."

A group of supporters have helped Beth Murray to put things together. Matt Lendel created the rules and information package posted at the NESL home page. Paula Philbrook helped fine-tuning the details. There is a lot of enthusiasm for the start of the league in the New England area. The contact address is posted at the league's home page, as well.
