posted Feb 13th, 2023 - The NSL News posted a review of the New England Skydiving League's history on February 10th. It was related to a few recent re-activation efforts of other leagues that will resume with 4-way training and competition activities this year.

The review of the New England Skydiving League had two different starting points. The first NSL News update on the new Skyleague.com website was actually published on 19 January 2006. It was related to the first comeback, which was organized by the original Mass Defiance lineup.

However, the recent update pointed out that the New England Skydiving League had a much longer history. It was launched in the same year 2000 as the Great Lakes Skydiving League and the Southwest Skydiving League.

The story included an update from the NSL News archives that was originally posted in July 2000, shortly after the second meet of the inaugural year. It also followed NESL team Impulse Rhode Island on their way to the USPA Nationals the same year.

A closer look at the NSL News archives revealed even earlier stories that were related to the inaugural season of the New England Skydiving League. At this point in time, they are all linked to the NESL meet in July 2000. According to the posted information, the New England Skydiving League held four meets that year, and the NSL News hopes to find more of the missing data.

There is also a gap between the inaugural 2000 season and the comeback report on 19 January 2006 that needs to be filled. The same story related to the earlier NESL years, while a comeback usually indicates that the activities came to an end at some point.

However, the first year of the New England Skydiving League was apparently as exciting as it promised to be. All five teams that attended the July meet competed at the USPA Nationals the same year in September/October. The earlier update on on February 10th featured Impulse Rhode Island in 4th place on the 4-way Advanced Class leaderboard.

Air Buddha signed up for the 4-way Intermediate Class for the national championships where they met the three other NESL teams on the USPA leaderboard. The Intermediate Class teams performed only six rounds with A Class sequences by then.
