Did You Know...

... that Arizona Airspeed won with a more intuitive performance?

Complete Airspeed lineup in preparation for Round 10
posted Feb 20th, 2023 - It was on Tuesday last week, four days before the start of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2023, when the NSL News visited Skydive City on the last day of NMP PCH HayaBusa's recent outdoor training camp. The NSL News update from Zephyrhills included NSL Live Talk with the complete lineup.

There was a 4-minute part of the video that had to be muted due to a copyright claim, caused by background music during the interview. The copyright claim was withdrawn after disputing it, and the complete interview is now available.

Less than a week later, Arizona Airspeed won the national indoor championships at Paraclete XP with a 34.0 average, and the reigning 4-way outdoor world champions also took the time for NSL Live Talk after the completion of the ten rounds and before the award ceremony.

Airspeed's Inside Center Chris Kuhlmann missed most of the NSL Live Talk, as he was treated with physical therapy right after the last round. However, Arizona Airspeed had an alternate, not only for the interview. XP8 member Andrew Happick joined Airspeed unexpectedly for the interview, and Niklas Hemlin explained why 8-way world champion Andrew Happick was not only an alternate for the 4-way world champions from Arizona.

Niklas Hemlin was recently compromised with Airspeed training, as he was dealing with an infection on his knee bone. He finally needed surgery and could not train at all. Airspeed did not interrupt the training and asked Andrew Happick to fill the slot until Niklas Hemlin would be back in full action.

It became an opportunity for Airspeed point Joey Marshall to get even more training in his B-slot, as SDC Rhythm's former Point took the Airspeed slot that he was most familiar with. Joey Marshall switched to outside center for the front piece with Andrew Happick, and for the time without Niklas Hemlin.

The recovery after the surgery went well for Niklas Hemlin, and he felt good enough to come back for the indoor competition. However, the sequences included situations that could cause collisions and jeopardize the successful recovery process after the surgery.

Airspeed took a very close look at the sequences and then decided which ones Niklas Hemlin could perform without a risk and when Andrew Happick would step in. Result of dealing with the situation was a more "intuitive performance", as Joey Marshall explained during the NSL Live Talk.
