posted Apr 22nd, 2023 - Two more rounds were scheduled for Saturday morning, and the NSL News followed the third potential 4-way Open medalists for the turnaround of Round 9. The NMP PCH HayaBusa members have become used to the attention that the NSL News has given the top teams, and they are dealing with it just as casually as other athletes do.

Dennis Praet jokingly mentioned that the same situation did not turn out very well on Friday when the French national team in 4-way Open was one of the two featured teams of the day. Round 7 was not the best one of the four rounds on Friday for France.

The results for France and NMP PCH HayaBusa both were much better on Saturday morning when the NSL News camera was recording the Belgian preparations for and the performance of Round 9. France won with a 30-pointer, and NMP PCH HayaBusa outscored Arizona Airspeed with 29 points, as well.

It was the first single round that Arizona Airspeed gave away since the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022. A different French 4-way Open Class lineup had won Round 2 in Charleroi and tied the 25-pointer in Round 6. The new French lineup tied Airspeed's score in Round 1 of the Shamrock Showdown 2023 and now copied the results of the indoor world cup last year with one won round and a tie.

NMP PCH HayaBusa preparations for Round 9

NMP PCH HayaBusa's new lineup had not won or tied any round whenever they competed at the same event with Arizona Airspeed. They also did not win a round at the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia, even though they outscored Arizona Airspeed in Round 9. France won the round one point ahead of the Belgians and two points over the U.S. team.

However, the whole indoor meet was encouraging for NMP PCH HayaBusa, and probably for France, as well. Both teams decreased their point differences to the world's 4-way leader significantly, compared to the results at the Shamrock Showdown. This is even more meaningful, as the higher pace and scores at indoor events usually support increased differences between the teams.

France has moved closer to Arizona Airspeed, while NMP PCH HayaBusa finished only four points behind France, compared to the seven points last month in DeLand. Arizona Airspeed and NMP PCH HayaBusa were separated by 37 indoor points in April 2022, 33 outdoor points at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2022, 27 points at the Shamrock Showdown, and now 19 indoor points in Slovakia. France followed the same progression between the two teams. The NSL News met with NMP PCH HayaBusa after the conclusion of the indoor world championship and the award ceremony for NSL Live Talk and to discuss the current situation.
