Did You Know...

... that HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons have joined freefall forces for the Skywalkers Junior 4-way team?

HF Cubs with the Czech Republic's President in 2022
posted May 26th, 2023 - The NSL News has covered the progression of Jan Klapka's 4-way junior program in the Czech Republic for many years. The amazing 4-way story began naturally with indoor training at the Hurricane Factory and regular participation at Indoor Cloud League events, followed by the Czech part of the World Tunnel League.

The 4-way indoor competition opportunities for the Czech juniors were still not the final destination for Jan Klapka. He was dreaming of Czech 4-way world champions, indoors and also outdoors in the long term. The HF Cubs began to provide evidence of the program's success when they won 4-way Junior gold medals at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2019, followed by 4-way Women gold medals at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022.

Jan Klapka was hoping that the HF Cubs would continue together with AFF training and outdoor competition. The NSL News finally got the first exciting news from the Czech Republic after Cubs member Sabina Ciolekova attended her first outdoor competition in July 2020.

Some of the Cubs members tested the outdoor options, while the complete lineup have not added 4-way with exits from jump planes to their agenda yet. The HF Cubs still competed most recently at the FAI Indoor World Championship where they finished in 4th place.

The same event included once again a 4-way Junior competition, which was not well attended. Only the home team, SDU GenZ, and the HF Flying Rebels completed their eight rounds of AA Class sequences. Three teams had participated in the 4-way Junior competition of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022.

HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons continued with their internal Czech 4-way Junior competition after the indoor world cup in Charleroi. There was only one team slot for the next FAI event, the indoor world championship in Slovakia this year.

The NSL News reported on January 18th that HF Flying Rebels finally won the qualification for the world championships at the Czech Indoor Open 2023 in January. Their friends and opponents of the HF Chameleons did not travel to Slovakia where the Flying Rebels won the duel with SDU GenZ for the Czech Republic.

Jan Klapka mentioned already in Slovakia that members of Flying Rebels and Chameleons had made plans for joining forces as soon as the weather would allow jumping from planes in the Czech Republic. They were ready to complete their AFF training and launch their own team project, the Skywalkers Junior team.

Skywalkers Junior ready for a 4-way outdoor training jump
Jan Klapka invited the former 4-way juniors to go through their AFF training at his skydiving school in Most, where the Skywalkers have been running a tandem operation for several years from the PAC 750XL jump plane. Antonin Ondracek and Filip Lukavec of the HF Chameleons, Flying Rebels member Martin Stransky and Kristian Vlk took him up on the offer and were soon ready for 4-way training.

They knew Kristian Vlk from visiting Most for their AFF training, where he is packing parachutes, and he fit well into the team with his 18 years of age. The Skywalkers agreed to support Jan Klapka's 4-way junior team project and offered the Skywalkers Junior team free slots in their jump plane.

Skywalkers Junior have started with their 4-way outdoor training, while more of their indoor team mates took on AFF training, as well. Two more Flying Rebels, Michal Mikolasek and Krystof Rulf, have completed their AFF training and will join the Skywalkers Junior team soon.

Five former 4-way junior team mates and Kristian Vlk and are now in freefall action together, and Jan Klapka may have to create a plan how to organize the slots until the next 4-way juniors will be ready for a new 4-way team...
