Did You Know...

... that Flying Rebels and Chameleons came back together for Indoor Cloud League May sequences?

HF Flying Rebels in 2017
posted Jun 2nd, 2023 - The members of the two former Czech junior teams, HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons, have known each other and trained together for a long time. Both teams still have original members in their current lineups who started in Jan Klapka's 4-way junior school of 2017.

Denisa Jeziakova and Krystof Rulf have trained and competed together with the Flying Rebels ever since and now won the world's 4-way junior championship title at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023. Krystyna Cejkova and Filip Lukavec started with the Chameleons in 2017 and are probably the second best 4-way junior team in the world behind the Flying Rebels.

Only the Flying Rebels represented the Czech Republic in Slovakia, as FAI/ISC world championships allow only one national team to compete at the event. Denisa Jeziakova and Krystof Rulf won the 4-way Junior competition together with Michal Mikulisek and Martin Stransky, who have been their team mates since November 2022.

Denisa Jeziakova, Krystof Rulf and Martin Stransky had won the 4-way Junior gold medals at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 with Maruska Psenickova in the lineup. The Chameleons with the same lineup (Krystyna Cejkova, Filip Lukavec, Ales Marysko, Antonin Ondracek) had won the bronze medals at same event, where up to four teams were eligible per nation.

The NSL News covered the 4-way Junior competition at the recent indoor world championship with a few updates, even though the participation was too small to be an official part of the FAI/ISC event. The HF Flying Rebels had to step down from AAA Class competition once again and perform the eight sequences of the AA Class dive pool in Slovakia.

The next step for Antonin Ondracek and Filip Lukavec of the Chameleons, and Martin Stransky, Michal Mikolasek and Krystof Rulf of the Flying Rebels, was a much bigger one, as the NSL News reported on May 26th. They decided to add outdoor training and competition to their 4-way agenda, together with Kristian Vlk, a young packer at Jan Klapka's skydiving school in Most.

The 4-way team Skywalkers Juniorhave started with their 4-way outdoor training, supported by the Skywalkers tandem operation in Most.

The new team name for outdoor training and competition did not keep the new 4-way outdoor competitors from performing under their previous team names for the indoor performances at the monthly Indoor Cloud League events at the Hurricane Factory in Prague.

Skywalkers Junior in freefall action over Most
The Czech 4-way senior teams have turned to outdoor training and competition after the last meet of the Czech Tunnel League in April, while the Indoor Cloud League continues month by month throughout the whole year. Senior teams like HF Flying Circus, Accord, M Team, Dycky Most often do not return regularly to the flying chamber in Prague when the summer season begins in the Czech Republic.

Jan Klapka was fortunate enough that the new outdoor competitors of the Skywalkers Junior still came back together in the windtunnel and continued with their monthly indoor duel between Flying Rebels and Chameleons. The official national team posted both highscores for the two 4-way Open Class sequences (AAA/AA).

Jan Klapka's 4-way junior school still generates enough new and very young 4-way competitors, who are performing the other four sequences for the Indoor Cloud League leaderboards. Helicopters, Smart Fish and Unicorns continued with their 4-way classes on Wednesday, which the NSL News covered when Arizona Airspeed and XPG4 visited the Hurricane Factory in Prague for their last training before the indoor world championship.

The update on April 18th included NSL-TV Unfiltered with the Czech 4-way juniors on their school day at the Hurricane Factory and their first Arizona Airspeed experience, live during one of their school days.
