posted Jul 16th, 2023 - Paraclete XP's Summer Classic 2023 in North Carolina is behind the Pre-Nationals 2023 at Skydive Houston in Texas. The weather situation was very different on Saturday at the two locations of this weekend's competition.

The teams in Texas completed seven rounds, while Skydive Paraclete XP fell victim to stormy weather in the area. The six teams, including visitors from Colorado (Mile-Hi SpeedRun) and Florida (CitiZens) have not completed a single round yet. The weather is more promising for Sunday, and the Summer Classic will try to catch up as much as possible.

The two AAA Class teams in Texas have no scoring history, while the two top teams at Paraclete XP are very well known in the 4-way world. The two AA Class teams in Texas include one of the longest-standing 4-way teams in the country, Spaceland Toxic, with a new lineup, and a new team, Disturbance Delicious, that the NSL News had introduced on July 11th.

The AA Class competition at Skydive Houston is close enough after Round 7 to feature a showdown for the top spot in the last three rounds. The AA and A Class teams at Skydive Paraclete are new. XP Falcons and Mile-Hi SpeedRun will measure up with the two teams from Texas in the AA Class, while XP Born and CitiZens feature a competition between North Carolina (XP Born) and Florida (CitiZens).

XPG4 and the Golden Knights 4-way team will start their re-match today. They met with almost exactly the same lineups at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2023, where GK4 finished in 2nd place behind Arizona Airspeed.

The U.S. national team in 4-way Women has been training intensively ever since in their preparations for the upcoming trip to Voss in Norway for the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023. The Golden Knights had 8-way world champion Andrew Starr in their 4-way lineup in February.

Andrew Starr has joined the U.S. 8-way team in the meantime. He will also compete in Norway with XPGK8, together with GK4 members Jesse Stahler and Mike Connors. Nick Birkner and Mitch Stockenberg complete the current 4-way lineup, with Andy Sippl on camera. The current 4-way lineup has trained with coach Niklas Hemlin and will be well prepared for the first outdoor competition this year.

XPG4 had their own personnel change since the indoor competition, where Shannon Catalano was still with the team. Jeana Billings came back after the event, and XPG4 finished at the FAI Indoor World Championship in April two average points higher than in February. There could be an exciting battle on the top of the leaderboard between GK4 and XPG4.
