... that Skydive Midwest NEXT continue unchanged?

ICL Midwest pandemic procedures in August 2020
posted Nov 11th, 2023 - The ICL Midwest Team joined the Indoor Cloud League in August 2020 and started with the highest total of the month. It was the NEXT comeback lineup (Lauren Byrd, Megan George, Chris Haslam, Greg Oldendick, Elliot Byrd on camera) that managed the indoor events after a 2-year interruption.

It was an unfortunate timing for the new lineup, as the implications of the corona virus crisis made it next to impossible to run indoor and outdoor events. However, ICL Midwest and Paraclete XP managed their way through the major obstacle and posted scores and videos for each of the months in the second half of 2020.

The new lineup of 2021/2022, with Gorka Amian in the tail slot for Chris Haslam, was still facing the same situation, even though the world's Calender of Events began to slowly fill again with Formation Skydiving activities. ICL Midwest and Paraclete XP both made their Indoor Cloud League way through the first half of the year before the next interruption. Only Kyle Hermberg's ICL team at iFLY Dallas had better conditions in Texas and did not miss a month in 2021. Jan Klapka at the Hurricane Factory in the Czech Republic had to take his own break and was back in the second half of the year.

Unchanged: Skydive Midwest NEXT in 2023/2024
The difficulties that were facing the windtunnels even more than skydiving centers during the pandemic continued for the ICL Midwest team at their home chamber in Chicago, while the same 2021/2022 lineup of NEXT had advanced to the best U.S. indoor team behind Arizona Airspeed and XPG4 in the meantime. ICL Midwest was finally back with Indoor Cloud League activities in July 2022.

Skydive Midwest NEXT of 2021/2022 did not continue, and the NSL News reported the new lineup on 17 November 2022. The new team with two new members (Katie Healy and Brian Nasset for Lauren Byrd and Megan George) needed time to establish the basics, and the ICL Midwest team participated only sporadically this year.

The new NEXT lineup traveled to Norway to collect the first international meet experiences for the new team members and followed up with a well improved performance at the USPA Nationals 2023. The complete lineup then took care of the two Open Class sequences of the ICL October draw and guided the other participants through the other four sequences. Skydive Midwest NEXT continue with the same lineup in 2024.
