Did You Know...

... that the Skywalkers Junior home in Most has a busy summer schedule?

Skywalkers Junior at the CZTL December meet
posted Dec 29th, 2023 - The Czech 4-way teams concluded their 2023 season with their last scores for the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard. Eight teams took on the six different December sequences and finished with a total of 119 ICL points for the month, which brings the Czech total of the year to 1,428 points. It's not a secure position yet, as the iFLY Dallas team could still move ahead of the current Czech position on the top.

Six of the eight teams on the last Czech Indoor Cloud League leaderboard of the year had also competed at the December meet of the World Tunnel League, and four of these six teams are responsible for five of the six ICL highscores. Only HF Helicopters did not perform the ten WTL rounds for December.

The NSL News had provided an update of the competition after the event, which was the second one of the Czech indoor winter season. Jan Klapka has scheduled four more monthly events, the next one on January 13th, before he turns back to outdoor training and competition. The Czech Open Indoor Championship takes place on the January 20/21 weekend, a week after the 3rd meet of the Czech Tunnel League. The Czech Indoor Cloud League team in the winter months is usually a mixture of juniors and seniors both, as it was once again the case in December. Only the 4-way juniors continue with indoor training and Indoor Cloud League competition all year long until they are ready for outdoor activities, as well.

Skwalkers Junior with Jan Klapka in Most
Jan Klapka has established his own training center and skydiving school at the Skywalkers tandem center in Most. That's the place where he transitions the interested 4-way juniors from the indoor to the outdoor environment. The NSL News has covered this transition comprehensively when the HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons formed the Skywalkers Junior 4-way team, who are now the Czech national indoor and outdoor champions.

The NSL News also visited the skydiving center in Most on the way to the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving in Voss, Norway, and the update on August 12th included NSL Live Talk with the complete team.

Jan Klapka recently posted his outdoor schedule, which offers more than only the 4-way junior training in Most. Skywalkers Junior will surely be in training action as much and as often as possible, on their way to move up to the next performance level and the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships 2024 in North Carolina.

The outdoor season in Most will begin with a 4-way training camp for the beginners in the sport at the end of May (25 - 26). Former HF Flying Circus member Martina Vavackova follows up with the next Formation Skydiving camp in June (15 - 16). She was recently player-coaching one of the Veloce QRF 8-way teams at the Weembinamic 2023. She and Jan Klapka together will continue with the June camp after her weekend in Most.

HF Chameleons - Skywalkers Junior - Crazy Dragons at the December meet of the Czech Tunnel League
Martina Vavackova (2nd from right) with Veloce QRF 9 at the Weembinamic 2023
Martina Vavackova and Jan Klapka begin to offer larger formations to their Czech skydivers and any visitors at the end of June (29 - 30), and the beginning of July offers another 4-way training camp in Most.

The July 5 - 6 weekend brings the Czech Skydiving League to Most with the second meet of the outdoor season. It will be the last opportunity to learn more about 4-way competition before the Czech national outdoor championship at the same place in August (23 - 25). That's when Skywalkers Junior have to defend their national 4-way outdoor title that they won last year for the first time.

This could be more challenging in 2024 when the youngest national 4-way champions in the world did not face much domestic opposition and won by 68 points with a 14.4 average. Three current members of the Crazy Dragons (Dasa Bezdekova, Marian Jeziak, Martina Vavackova) would just have to find a 4th experienced outdoor competitor to make it more interesting, unless Marian Jeziak's daughter and indoor team mate Denisa would be ready for outdoor training and competition, as well. Some of her former HF Flying Rebels team mates have made the same step and train with Skywalkers Junior now. The outdoor season in Most with Formation Skydiving events will probably conclude after 4-way Scrambles for everybody on August 6 - 8 and the national championship a few weeks later. Then there is only 4-way training left for Skywalkers Junior until their first outdoor world championship.
