posted Jan 17th, 2024 - The comeback of the Florida Skydiving League had a false start last weekend, as bad weather put a halt to almost all skydiving activities in Florida. The event had to be canceled and was rescheduled for the April 20 weekend.

However, the weather situation cannot keep 4-way teams from indoor training and competition, and one of the newer teams in Florida, 4Action, substituted the outdoor competition with 45 minutes of indoor training at iFLY Fort Lauderdale on the Monday after the planned outdoor competition at Skydive Sebastian.

4Action was born as a team at the Shamrock Showdown 2023, even though the lineup has changed significantly. In fact, only Felipe Della Giustina was in the 4Action lineup that competed at the event at Skydive DeLand in March last year.

Felipe Della Giustina became addicted to 4-way training and competition after his first year with Sebastian team Anion Flux. He was recruited when original Anion Flux member Logan Taylor did not continue after placing 2nd in 4-way Beginner at the USPA Nationals 2022. Katie Lazarus (Point), Austin Shelton (Outside Center), Paul Civitella (Tail) and Dean Nordstedt (Video) continued with new inside center Felipe Della Giustina. Anion Flux moved up to Intermediate Class competition (AA) and placed 8th at the USPA Nationals 2022.

4Action at the Shamrock Showdown 2023 and the USPA Nationals 2023

Felipe Della Giustina was more than ready to continue, while Anion Flux made no new plans for the 2023 season. Eventually he decided to take his 4-way destiny in his own hands and recruited a new 4-way team, 4Action, for the Shamrock Showdown 2023.

Fawn Fowler, Amaranth Aquarian and Mandy Echevarria joined him for the meet, with Chris Thomas on camera. Fawn Fowler and Amaranth Aquarian, located near Skydive City, had already plans for their own new team, and their CitiZens won gold medals at the USPA Nationals 2023.

Felipe Della Giustina was looking out for three new team members after the Shamrock Showdown 2023, and he joined forces with his former Anion Flux team mate Katie Lazarus, Robby Cunningham and Jake Perlman for the Cloud Games in June last year, with Greg Flowers on camera.

Felipe Della Giustina then continued as inside center with his new team mate Jake Perlman in the outside center slot. Marcella Rey (Point) and Anatoly Yuntsevich (Tail) completed the new 4Action lineup, with Nathan Sierra on camera at the USPA Nationals.

4Action - HF Helicopters World Tunnel League January 2024

The new 4Action lineup was not done after the first competition experiences for the new team members. They used the winter break after the national championship for training and for making plans for the first year with the same lineup. The January meet of the Florida Skydiving League was supposed to be the next opportunity to collect more competition experiences.

4Action plan to continue with indoor and outdoor training, as they will try again to perform the next outdoor rounds at the February meet of the Florida Skydiving League, before switching to indoor competition and the trip to this year's national indoor championship at Paraclete XP.

The new 4Action lineup has committed to AA/Intermediate Class competition, even though they would still be eligible for the A/Beginner Class. The training with the new lineup has shown the progression that original member and team founder Felipe Della Giustina has been hoping for, and 4Action could arrive on a competitive level at the indoor and outdoor events.

The Florida Skydiving League competition had to be canceled, while the Czech 4-way teams performed the January sequences of the World Tunnel League. 4Action used the ten rounds for competition training, slightly modified to accommodate the complete dive pool. They were able to keep up with the Czech 4-way juniors of the HF Helicopters, based on their own timing and judging.
