posted Jan 26th, 2024 - It is no news any longer that Jan Klapka's 4-way junior school program in the Czech Republic has generated a whole new generation of 4-way competitors. The NSL News audience has had the opportunity to follow the progression of the Czech 4-way juniors for many years, with the participation at the Indoor Cloud League and the monthly meets of the Czech Tunnel League in the winter season.

The leaderboards of the most recent Czech Indoor Open 2024 provided only more evidence of the successful guidance of the 4-way juniors from the beginner status to world class level. There is a difference though, as the early Czech 4-way junior generation has turned into 4-way senior competitors by now.

The AAA Class award podium was taken by nine participants of the 4-way junior school program. Only three of the AAA competitors did not go to the Czech 4-way school. Martina Vavackova, Dasa Bezdzkova and Marian Jeziak started 4-way in the traditional way. They became national champions, Martina Vavackova and Dasa Bezdzkova with HF Flying Circus, Marian Jeziak with Bad Boys. This time, they ended up in 3rd place on the AAA Class leaderboard with Crazy Dragons.

The three Crazy Dragons were the only 4-way seniors in medal positions without going to the 4-way junior school before. Their team mate Denisa Jeziakova, Marian Jeziak's daughter, trained and competed with HF Flying Rebels at the FAI world cups and world championships of the past years. She shared the podium with her former team mates and opponents in the Skywalkers Junior and HF Chameleons lineups.

Panthers and Helicopters took the 1st and the 3rd places on the AA Class podium. The Czech indoor leaderboards do not separate 4-way juniors and 4-way seniors. The same mixture can be found at any other indoor competitions. Only FAI world cups and world championships separate 4-way juniors and seniors, and the juniors apply the AA Class dive pool and rules.

Sharks and Eagles took the same positions on the A Class leaderboard. The Unicorns ended up as the only 4-way junior team that did not step onto the awards podium. The Sharks had to fend off the senior 4-way Women lineup Surikaty for the 1st place in a 2-point battle. Only three of the nine teams in the AAA/AA/A categories were 4-way seniors, and all winners were current or former participants of the 4-way junior school. Only the Rookie Class leaderboard featured exclusively senior competitors.
