Did You Know...

... that AA Class team 4Action perform AAA Class sequences every month?

Every Tuesday at iFLY Fort Lauderdale
posted Mar 7th, 2024 - Marcella Rey has been organizing horizontal Formation Skydiving events in South Florida for a while, and soon she established an indoor community at iFLY Fort Lauderdale, together with Pam and Guy Manos. However, her passion for 4-way training and competition grew out of the ordinary once she joined forces with Felipe Della Giustina and Jake Perlman, her current 4Action team mates.

Felipe Della Giustina is a former Anion Flux XP member of 2022, who himself was infected by the 4-way virus at that time. Marcella Rey and Felipe Della Giustina together created more than enough motivation and energy to build their own team with Jake Perlman. Anatoly Yuntsevich eventually completed the team, and they recently added Joe Vianna on camera to the 4Action lineup.

Marcella Rey continued with the management of her large and constantly growing group of 4-way fans in South Florida, and the 4Action training and progression motivated the participants even more to increase the quality of their skills. Marcella Rey and her 4Action team mates have been meeting at iFLY Fort Lauderdale on every Tuesday for a long time to enjoy 4-way training with anybody who might be interested. 4Action eventually performed some of the monthly Indoor Cloud League sequences in 2023, and Marcella Rey began working on plans how to guide her large group into consistent participation together with other ICL teams across the planet.

She had built the foundation for an Indoor Cloud League team together with Pam and Guy Manos, and she was ready to make the next step with iFLY Fort Lauderdale's consistent presence on the monthly ICL leaderboards. The beginning of the new year became the entry time for the new ICL team, and the first complete set of six scores and videos was posted for the month of January.

Three teams have grown out of the large group of participants, who joined forces and submitted the scores and videos for the first two months of the year. Under Construction performed two of the three Rookie Class sequences (R - RR), and Volaticus took on the RRR sequence and the first block maneuvers of the A Class.

Marcella Rey and Felipe Della Giustina, with their 4Action team mates Jake Perlman and Anatoly Yuntsevich, were familiar with the AA Class dive pool and could perform one of the two Open Class sequences without too much trouble. The current 4Action lineup had trained the AA Class dive pool before and since the USPA Nationals 2023, where they finished in 17th place at their first competition together. They collected their next AA Class meet experiences at the February meet of the Florida Skydiving League before finishing in 4th place with a 15.3 average at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2024.

4Action will continue with AA/Intermediate Class training and competition in 2024, which does not bring the additional six slot-switching AAA Class blocks to the regular team training. They mastered the Indoor Cloud League AA Class sequences for January and February as well as they did at the national indoor championship, while they were not trained for the two AAA Class sequences for the first two months of the year.

4Action could not get anywhere close to the AA Class scores of Skywalkers Junior or Chameleons in the Czech Republic, while they were able to outscore the AA Class lineup from iFLY Dallas in January. In fact, the new team Under Construction did the same in the RR Class, after also outscoring the Czech Helicopters in the same category in January.

The biggest challenge still waited for 4Action, as they took on the AAA Class sequences in both months. The team has not trained any B-slots and is not familiar with the six AAA Class blocks. The January sequence (C,22,Q,5) switched front and rear pieces both, while the February sequence (J,21,D,10) created memory and 12-point pages only for the front piece. 4Action did not hesitate to take on the unusual maneuvers and enjoyed the challenge. The additional six blocks are on the 4Action agenda for the time after the conclusion of the 2024 season anyway, and the monthly Indoor Cloud League AAA sequences will be the regular introduction of the complete dive pool.
