posted Mar 8th, 2024 - The indoor winter season in Europe continues with more national indoor championships. Switzerland and Germany are running their events this weekend, shortly after Norway and Austria completed their nationals. The competition in Berlin, Germany, features an international field in 4-way and in 8-way, and the visiting Qatar Lions are on the top of the leaderboard after eight rounds on Friday.

Operation Adler has an 11-point lead over Airbus in the teams' first showdown this year. One of the Veloce QRF lineups is in 1st place though as a guest team. German 4-way Women team Skynamite did not travel to Berlin. They decided to compete at the Swiss indoor championship instead. Skynamite were Germany's national indoor and outdoor team in 4-way Women in 2018 and 2019.

The Austrian 4-way teams competed on the same weekend in Munich when Norway held their national indoor championship at the Modern Activity Center near Oslo. Austria's Windabona windtunnel in Vienna was not available as a host, and the Austrian 4-way teams met in the German city near the border between the two countries to compete for their national indoor championship medals. HSV Red Bull AerodynamiX defended the Austrian 4-way indoor title successfully that they took from Black Mantis in 2023. The former indoor and outdoor champions finished in 2nd place.

HSV Red Bull AerodynamiX started with the current lineup in 2020 and began challenging Black Mantis in 2022. They almost won the Austrian outdoor championship the same year by finishing one single point behind Final Fire. The former national 4-way team had no plans for the 25th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships 2022, and AerodynamiX competed for Austria in Eloy.

AerodynamiX finally united Austrian indoor and outdoor championship titles in 2023, after Black Mantis went through personnel changes in their lineup.

The current national indoor and outdoor champions finished with a new record average after 4.5 hours of previous indoor training that brought the same lineup quickly back to the performance level at the 4th FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championship a year ago in Slovakia. No other Austrian team could get anywhere close at the national indoor championship in Munich. AerodynamiX will not compete for Austria at the upcoming indoor world cup in China. The next competition is the CISM World Championship in Hungary. Participation at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships 2024 in North Carolina depends on the military duties of team members at that time.
