posted Mar 13th, 2024 - Tom Mattoni is back in France where the medical examination is waiting and the rehabilitation begins. National coach Mathieu Bernier is taking his outside center slot, and he is also using his jumpsuit.

Mathieu Bernier is not only a 4-way and 8-way world champion and will fill the slot adequately. He has also selected the current lineup and guided the Aethers to the highest level in horizontal 4-way Formation Skydiving competition. He knows the team and the members like nobody else and will probably gather even more information by training and competing with them.

Arizona Airspeed have arrived in DeLand and were in full training swing with their new team videographer on Wednesday morning. Alex Swindle has replaced Brendan Haddon, who was filming the team for two years, including the Shamrock Showdown 2022, and he was on camera for Arizona Airspeed to win the 25th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships in 2022, as well.

Brendan Haddon was back for the Shamrock Showdown 2023 and completed his time with the reigning world champions at the USPA Nationals 2023. David French was filming Arizona Airspeed at the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving last year in Norway.

Alex Swindle started with Arizona Airspeed at the beginning of the year, as the team announced officially in December:

"After two years of hard work and success, our World Champion videographer Brendan Haddon is stepping down from the team. We are happy to announce that Alex Swindle will be stepping in as our new videographer. Like Brendan, Alex is a seasoned professional and competitor in the sport. You might know Alex for his passion for in air photography, wingsuit acrobatics with his team pteam_pterodactyl, or his collection of Batman figurines and goats ??. Please help us offer Alex a warm welcome to the team!!"

Alex Swindle was born and raised in Arizona, and he still leaves in Tucson. He has been in the NSL News records since 2011, first as 4-way competitor, beginning with Altidudes, later with EOS in 2015, and with AZ Defiance, then increasingly on 4-way camera. The same three teams on the top of the leaderboard at the USPA Nationals 2015 will compete at Skydive DeLand this week.

The Shamrock Showdown 2024 will offer him the first opportunity in a highly competitive international field of world class teams. Arizona Airspeed plan to defend the world championship title in October this year, and the French Aethers will be the same major opponent in October.
