Did You Know...

... that the Czech 4-way teams swept ICL May five years after the first time?

HF Flying Circus highscores in January 2019
posted Jun 3rd, 2024 - It had happened only once so far in the history of the Indoor Cloud League that one of the participating teams won all six categories with a clean ICL Sweep. It was the group of Czech teams in the Hurricane Factory who generated the total of 144 points in January 2019, as the NSL News reported on 2 February 2019.

HF Flying Circus, the Czech Republic's national 4-way indoor and outdoor team by then, posted the highscores for the two Open Class sequences (AAA/AA), and four other teams added the scores for the four additional ICL categories (A/RRR/RR/R). A total of 14 Czech lineups competed with each other for the six highscores before the monthly leaderboard for January 2019 was complete.

Four other ICL teams (iFLY Seattle. Paraclete XP, iFLY Tampa, iFLY Dallas) posted scores on the same January leaderboard and could not match the Czech numbers. iFLY Seattle's R Class lineup came closest with a difference of only two points behind the HF Chameleons. Krystyna Cejkova, Anastasiya Okhmat, Antonin Ondracek, Matej Sotona and Stepan Sotona competed for the HF Chameleons in 2019.

The HF Chameleons are now the Czech national team in 4-way Junior and are still posting monthly scores for the Czech Indoor Cloud League team. Krystyna Cejkova and Anastasiya Okhmat are still in the Chameleons lineup, now together with Filip Lukavec and Ales Marysko. The current junior lineup is in an ongoing battle against the young 4-way Open Class team, Skywalkers Junior, with former Chameleons member Antonin Ondracek in the lineup of the Czech national indoor and outdoor team.

Indoor Cloud League January 2019: Hurricane Factory Highscores
HF Chameleons highscores in January 2019
Only eight Czech teams competed for the ICL highscores in May, and five of them together generated the total of 147 points, three points more than in January 2019. The second sweep in the history of the Indoor Cloud League happened in a month when the highest number of ICL teams this year posted their scores on the May leaderboard.

It was the same month when the ICL Midwest team, now under CSC Constellation XP leadership, tied their total of 98 points in April, one point behind the 99 points in March. It seems like the ICL Midwest team is ready to break through the 100-point benchmark any time soon, which the new Florida opponent at iFLY Lauderdale has accomplished twice so far.

However, iFLY Lauderdale ended up 20 points behind ICL Midwest last month, and the AAA/AA categories featured a new indirect duel, this time between CSC Constellation XP and Florida AA/Intermediate Class team 4Action. Both teams perform the two Open Class sequences for their Indoor Cloud League teams, even though they are still planning to compete in the AA/Intermediate Class this year. The AA Class sequence for the monthly competition draws could be drawn for the Intermediate Class competition, as well, while the AAA Class sequence of the Indoor Cloud League always includes a slot-switching block in a 6-point sequence. Neither CSC Constellation XP nor 4Action are trained for the additional six slot-switchers and take on the AAA Class sequence as an additional challenge.

4Action have added the AAA Class sequences to their Indoor Cloud League agenda since iFLY Fort Lauderdale joined the monthly ICL competition with a complete team in January. ICL Midwest have submitted AAA/AA scores and videos in 2024, as well, while the complete current CSC Constellation lineup performed the AAA/AA combination first time last month.

CSC Constellation XP won the AA/Intermediate Class competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2024 with Natalie Rodriguez, Leslie Noble, Russell Bayuk and Brad Strock in the lineup, and the Midwest team is probably the top contender for this year's USPA Nationals in the same category.

They will meet 4Action directly again at Skydive Chicago this year, after both teams competed with different lineups at the USPA Nationals 2023. Both teams also competed with their current lineups at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2024. 4Action then posted exactly the same outdoor average at the Shamrock Showdown 2024 that CSC Constellation XP placed 4th with at last year's national outdoor championship. 4Action and CSC Constellation XP will probably continue to compare their scores indirectly after the monthly Indoor Cloud League competitions, before they meet again live at the USP Nationals 2024. The Midwest team won the AAA Class by four points in May, while 4Action were just one point behind in the AA Class.
