Did You Know...

... that Echochamber Oceanside will be ready for the outdoor world championship?

Echochamber at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016
posted Aug 8th, 2024 - Swedish 4-way teams did not keep up with last year's participation at the national outdoor championship, as Denmark and Austria did. There was still progression, as the three teams in July competed in the A Class this year. Eclipse and two other Swedish teams had started in the RRR Class in 2023, while three more teams competed in the AAA Class, including Echochamber Oceanside and Aurora.

Aurora followed up and represented Sweden at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 in Norway, where Echochamber did not compete. The Swedish world class team has hardly missed any FAI world championships or world cups, indoors or outdoors, since Echochamber launched their 4-way team career in 2016.

Echochamber were neither qualified nor ready to compete at the FAI World Outdoor Championship in their first year and attended their first FAI event at the Indoor World Cup 2016 in October, together with their Swedish opponents of Gryttjom Volo. Echochamber's first outdoor world championship was the event in Australia 2018, where they finished right away in 5th place and behind the same four nations who are still the top contenders for FAI 4-way medals.

Together with most other national 4-way teams they missed the rescheduled FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 in August 2021 and were back for Sweden at the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2022 to finish in 7th place.

Echochamber then attended the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023 and missed the outdoor world cup, where Aurora represented Sweden. They were back in action again for where they took back the 5th place.

Missing the outdoor world cup last year and the national this year's FAI Indoor World Cupoutdoor championship this year does not mean that Echochamber is done with outdoor training and competition. Team speaker Ulf Liljenback confirmed that his team is registered for the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024. That's the event where Echochamber wants to go back to the 5th place of 2018, as well.

Echochamber are confident to be ready for the task in October. The final preparations include a training camp at Skydive DeLand, together with a few other European national teams on the way to North Carolina. Echochamber are aware that the competition for the 5th place will be challenging, with more teams in contention for the meaningful position behind the medal contenders, and for the world's unofficial amateur title.
