posted Sep 18th, 2024 - The 4-way Open Class competition at the USPA National Championship 2024 did not offer any surprises on the very top of the leaderboard, where Arizona Airspeed once again confirmed the world's current leadership, this time with the sole highscores for all ten rounds and a 25.8 average. The world's two highest meet averages of the 2024 season have been posted by the old and new USPA champions, first 28.2 at the Shamrock Showdown 2025, now followed by 25.8 last weekend.

The medal positions behind Arizona Airspeed were disputed though. XPG4 had won USPA silver over SDC Rhythm XP and Golden Knights at the USPA Nationals 2023. However, it seemed like the Golden Knights were on track to claim the 2nd place in U.S. 4-way after a promising performance and the 2nd place the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2024.

The U.S. Army team followed up with a convincing 22.9 average at the Shamrock Showdown 2024, while XPG4 were trying to catch up with the new lineup that had brought Jennifer Davidson to XPG4 this year.

XPG4's new lineup started outdoor competition with the 20.5 average at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2024, less than three months before the USPA Nationals and another three weeks before the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024, where they will probably meet the Chinese 4-way Women team who won the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024 with an astonishing 30.5 average.

XPG4 continued with outdoor training and the 20.5 average in June. Result of the training efforts after the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2024 was the 22.5 average last weekend, which is even higher than Jennifer Davidson's 22.4 with the Golden Knights 4-way Women team at the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2016, where she won her first 4-way gold medal.

She followed up two years later with 8-way gold in Australia 2018 as the first female member of a Golden Knights 8-way team. Now she trains and competes again in 4-way Women with XPG4, and with two other 8-way world champions, Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon.

As Brenn Richards, Michelle Karamon competes only in 4-way at the world championship, while Jeana Billings will try to win double-gold in both events. She would share at least the 8-way medals with Jennifer Davidson, who is the alternate for the GKXP8 8-way team, together with Mitch Stockenberg. Jennifer Davidson reminded the NSL News that there is still one female Formation Skydiving competitor with even greater accomplishments. Eliana Rodriguez has won world championship gold in 4-way Women (2001), 8-way Open (2004) and 4-way Open (2008). The NSL News connected with Jennifer Davidson while she was waiting for her 8-way team to land after Round 9.
