posted Sep 19th, 2024 - The 8-way competition at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024 caught the attention of the NSL News several times in the run-up to the competition. The duel between Operation Adler and the Airbus 8-way lineup became even more of a drama than expected, and the NSL News will follow up later with the details of it.

Eventually, the defending champions of Operation Adler won the special internal qualification and will compete for Germany at the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024. There was not much drama in 4-way Open, even though the stakes are high for both national 4-way teams, Airbus in 4-way Open, Meltemi in 4-way Women.

Airbus Illertissen is expected to be one of the teams who will try to become the world's unofficial amateur champions, and Meltemi Illertissen was a contender for FAI medals before the Chinese 4-way Women team was registered for the outdoor world championship. Meltemi increased their performance and scoring level significantly since the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 and finished with a new team record average of 17.0 at GoJump in Gransee. However, the German 4-way Women team will most likely be facing U.S. team XPG4, China's 4-way Women lineup and the French Nephtys in the battle for the three medal positions, and it will probably require at least a 20-average level to get into a medal position.

Both German national teams have scheduled more training before the world championship and travel to Skydive DeLand in Florida for the last preparations before the event at Crystal Coast Skydiving in North Carolina. They will meet other national teams from Norway and Great Britain with the same purpose in DeLand.

The Airbus 4-way team even added another competition to their schedule of world meet preparations. They will attend the upcoming ESL Championship 2024 this weekend, which will be hosted by the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar near their homes in the southwest of Germany.

It will be a serious test, as there will be strong opposition with Qatar's Lions and Cheetahs and ISR FireFlash from Belgium. The Czech Skywalkers Junior will also experience their first international outdoor competition and might be ready to challenge some of the highscores round by round. A total of 17 teams from seven different countries are registered for the event at FSZ Saar at the moment, which makes it a strong comeback after the last event in 2019 and the recovery after the corona virus crisis.

NSL Live Talk with Solly Williams, Thomas and Tim Mack - Teiwaz Circus at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024

The NSL News covered the German Outdoor Nationals comprehensively for the German host and in German language. However, one of the many video clips with NSL TV Unfiltered and commentary was a conversation in English language. Airbus coach Solly Williams was present for the 4-way competition at GoJump in Gransee, and he joined a conversation with father Tom and son Tim Mack.

Tom Mack has been a member of the Airbus 4-way and 8-way lineups for a long time, and he won national 4-way and 8-way titles once again this year with the Airbus 4-way team and 8-way team Operation Adler. He will have double duties with both teams at the outdoor world championship, together with his Airbus team mates Felix Pfeiffer and Alexander Prendinger, and Meltemi member Linda Koeb.

His son Tim Mack is still a highly talented 4-way teenager and joined Teiwaz Circus for the first time at the Shamrock Showdown 2024, where Solly Williams and Carl-Erik Tuv were some of his first team mates in a AAA Class competition. Teiwaz Circus 2023 members Martina Vavackova, Uli Sehrbrock, Kurt Gaebel and videographer Wolfgang Hagedorn had also made new plans for a reunion at the German national outdoor championship where they had competed together last year. Tim Mack joined the 2024 lineup as outside center and replaced Pablo Fahrenschon who has been on camera for Meltemi. Solly Willams, Tim Mack and Kurt Gaebel had competed together at the Shamrock Showdown in March 2024. Tom and Tim Mack met Solly Williams for NSL Live Talk when the 4-way competition was completed.
