posted Sep 21st, 2024 - The ESL Championship 2024 was already concluded on Saturday, after perfect weather conditions on Friday and Saturday allowed meet director Mike Pennock to complete all ten rounds for all 16 teams at the end of Saturday and open up the evening for the award ceremony and event party at the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar (FSZ Saar).

The final leaderboard matched the NSL Power Rankings of the preview quite accurately. The new team record average of Airbus Oceanside Illertissen was still not enough to hold off the Qatar Lions, who had shown their current 20-average potential earlier this month at the BENELUX Championship 2024. They finished with 19.8 in Saarlouis to win over the German national team in 4-way Open and ISR FireFlash.

The Qatar Lions have moved far ahead of the Cheetahs after the changes in the lineups of the two farm teams, and they begin to put pressure on the Tigers, Qatar's national team in 4-way Open, who will compete for medals at the upcoming FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024. The Tigers have to defeat NMP PCH HayaBusa's new lineup to win at least bronze medals, which the Lions already managed to do successfully at the BENELUX Championship 2024 earlier this month. The ESL Championship was also the last competition for Belgian 4-way legend Sven Ibens with ISR FireFlash. It was the first outdoor competition with their newest team member Lena Clynhens in the point slot.

The NSL News mentioned in the preview that one of teams in the next group of AAA Class opponents, Skywalkers Junior, might have the potential to challenge the three top teams for a few highscores round by round. The Czech youngsters were eventually the only one of the next three teams who matched the highscore of the three medal winners with their 18-pointer in Round 5, despite a point deduction.

Skywalkers Junior were ready to break through the 18-point benchmark on their journey to the top level in the world in the coming years. However, the total of 14 point deductions, most of them due to "Camera Angle / Grip Visibility" kept them from finishing even closer to the medal positions.

Ayro confirmed their position with the performance level that the new lineup was showing earlier this month at their national outdoor championship at the BENELUX Championship 2024. They ended up ten points behind Skywalkers Junior and ten points ahead of the Qatar Cheetahs.

Last and not least, Belgian team Falco and Dark Neva from Germany had their duel for the 7th place that Dark Neva won by two points. A different lineup had outscored Teiwaz Circus in a similar battle at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024 just a few weeks ago. Teiwaz outside center Tim Mack was now filming his father Tom Mack's team in Saarlouis and managed the camera slot with only two point deductions.
