posted Oct 1st, 2024 - The Indoor Cloud League team of the Hurricane Factory in Prague continued limping through the Czech Republic's outdoor summer season in August, as well. The July total of 82 ICL points was the lowest score in a long time, and the 91 points for August were not much more. The iFLY Dallas team in 2nd place was able to reduce the difference by 39 points in the same two months.

August was still a better month for Jan Klapka's team than July, as he was at least able to recruit enough teams to perform all six monthly ICL sequences. He had submitted scores and videos for only four categories in July.

Jan Klapka is dealing with a good problem though. He has been losing indoor participants for a happy reason, as several of his 4-way indoor juniors have moved on to outdoor training and competition, while others continue with different activities in their lives. Members of Skywalkers Junior, HF Chameleons and Panthers have committed to the outdoors, even though they still return to all or some of the indoor events. However, the new well trained 4-way juniors keep reaching the scoring limits for the Indoor Cloud League events, and Jan Klapka has to look for new flying juniors all the time. He is in the middle of recruiting for the upcoming winter season after making it at least reasonably well through the summer season with his new skydivers, and also through family vacations of his 4-way juniors.

The Skywalkers Junior and Cirkus 2.0 seniors performed the two Open Class sequences (AAA/AA) in August with their experienced indoor and outdoor lineups, and the highly experienced Cirkus 2.0 won this internal duel clearly. The combination of former Bad Boys (Marian Jeziak, Vaclav Prokes) and former HF Flying Circus members (Dagmar Brechlerova, Martina Vavackova) had no chance any longer at the national outdoor championship in August, while they still won the indoor competition.

Skywalkers Junior have focused on outdoor training after their transition from 4-way junior indoor to outdoor 4-way, and the progression of the very young team has been impressive. It could not be a big surprise that the Cirkus 2.0 lineup could not keep up with Skywalkers Junior. The indoor situation was reversed in August when the senior lineup won over the former 4-way juniors.

Jan Klapka still had two of his young 4-way junior lineups available, even though Unicorns and Junior Green will have changes in their lineups for the winter season, as well. Unicorns took care of the A Class and RRR Class sequences, while Junior Green performed the remaining two Rookie Class sequences (RR/R). Jan Klapka's M Team competed at the national outdoor championship and the two other outdoor meets of the Czech Republic Skydiving League and skipped the indoor events in the last three months.

Skywalkers Junior have continued with their impressive outdoor progression in the meantime. The NSL News mentioned earlier that the arguably youngest 4-way team in the world will not compete for the Czech Republic at the upcoming FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024, while they have the 2026 event in their minds.

They copied their 17.0 average of the national outdoor championship less than a month later at the ESL Championship 2024, where they finished in 4th place behind Qatar Lions, Airbus Oceanside Illertissen and ISR FireFlash. The scoring progression would have been the same as it has been since the start into outdoor competition last summer without the total of 14 point deductions, several of them caused by "Camera Angle / Grip Visibility".

One of the five rotating team members (Filip Lukavec, Antonin Ondracek, Krystof Rulf, Martin Stransky, Michal Mikolasek) was on camera for the Skywalkers Junior in Saarlouis. Michal Mikolasek is the most universal team member and has been rotating between slots and camera. He was back on camera for the ESL Championship. Skywalkers Junior were already performing on an 18-average pace level, and it is probably only a matter of time when it will appear on their next outdoor leaderboard.
