posted Nov 19th, 2024 - The indoor winter season of the Czech Tunnel League began this month with the first of six events that Jan Klapka has scheduled for his Czech 4-way teams and any other participants. A total of 14 teams launched this year's indoor winter season, which is almost exactly the same number as at in November 2023 (15).

The AAA Class leaderboard featured an exciting competition and the same duel between the reigning Czech national indoor and outdoor champions, Skywalkers Junior, and the new version of the former national team, HF Flying Cirkus. Cirkus 2.0 is a combination of former Bad Boys Marian Jeziak and Vaclav Prokes and former HF Flying Circus members Dagmar Brechlerova and Martina Vavackova.

Cirkus 2.0 had already joined Bad Boys and Flying Cirkus forces for the national outdoor championship in August, where they had to accept the overwhelming dominance (170 - 119) of the youngest 4-way outdoor team in the world, with an average age below 18. However, the experienced Cirkus 2.0 lineup were much better prepared for the first indoor competition of the winter season and finished only five points behind. Skywalkers Junior launched the indoor season almost exactly on the same scoring level (22.5) as last year in November. Most likely, the 22.6 average last week will only be the definition of the starting point on the road to the indoor world championship at Paraclete XP in April next year. This will be the first appearance of Skywalkers Junior in 4-way Open at any FAI/ISC event.

Skywalkers Junior - Cirkus 2.0 at the November meet of the Czech Tunnel League

Skywalkers Junior will focus only on indoor training and competition until April, and they have at least the five events of the Czech Tunnel League to collect more competition experiences. The young team members have competed at FAI/ISC events in 4-way Junior before the category was removed from the the FAI/ISC agenda until more national teams from other countries will participate.

The next generation of Czech indoor juniors is already on the road that Skywalkers Junior have been showcasing to them. the Helikopters have arrived at the AAA/Open Class leaderboard, as well, after their first year in the RRR Class (2022/2023) and then stepping up to AA Class training and competition in 2023/2024.

The Panthers have been switching back and forth between A and AA leaderboards, after their start in the RRR Class of 2020. The lineup has changed, and some of the team members have also begun with their transition to outdoor training and competition. Elen Zielinska and Mikolas Velicka attended their first outdoor competition at this year's national championship, where they had Patricia Herdicky from Slovakia and Skywalkers Junior member Michal Mikolasek in their lineup, with Tomáš Berousek on camera.Eagles, Sharks and Angels all stepped up from A to AA competition together last week. Five of the six teams on the AA Class leaderboard consisted only of 4-way junior competitors.
