Did You Know...

... that Kyle Hermberg welcomed 19 participants at iFLY Dallas for the ICL December sequences?

Czech Indoor Cloud League team in 2018
posted Jan 6th, 2025 - The Indoor Cloud League 2024 duel between Kyle Hermberg's iFLY Dallas team and Jan Klapka's Hurricane 4-way team Factory in the Czech Republic has come to its conclusion before all data for the last year has been processed and posted. The Czech ICL team took ten of the twelve monthly highscores, and iFLY Dallas won the August competition. The ICL Midwest team posted the highest July total.

The comeback of the Indoor Cloud League after the especially tough indoor restrictions throughout the corona virus crisis, and its related changes and difficulties afterwards, began in 2022, even though the Hurricane Factory team still could not submit scores and videos for two of the summer months. Kyle Hermberg's iFL Dallas team won in 2022, and the Hurricane Factory ended up in 3rd place. Paraclete XP, where Jeana Billings has prepared plans for a comeback in 2025, finished behind iFLY Dallas in 2nd place.

Hurricane Factory and iFLY Dallas were separated by only ten points (1428 - 1418) at the end of the 2023 season, when Jan Klapka was able to submit scores and videos for all twelve months. The same 10-point difference was the closest finish between Hurricane Factory and iFLY Dallas in ICL history. Only the 2-point difference between Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP (1461 - 1459) in 2018 was closer. The Hurricane Factory increased the distance to iFLY Dallas in 2024, when Skywalkers Junior took care of the two Open Class sequences (AAA/AA) month by month as a senior team with outdoor experiences. Skywalkers Junior alone won the AAA/AA combination in 2024 by 175 points over the Open Class lineups from iFLY Dallas.

The NSL News pointed out in several updates that Kyle Hermberg focuses heavily on generating new 4-way competitors and offering special and rare training opportunities for his participants. The ICL scores are more or less a side product of the introduction to 4-way training and competition. Jan Klapka uses the events at the Hurricane Factory for a similar purpose in a different way. His youngest 4-way junior students begin to train in 4-way teams from the very beginning and start with the easiest Rookie Class sequences (R/RR).

Kyle Hermberg reported from iFLY Dallas that he filled 178 slots in 2024, which is a similar participation number compared to the ICL 2023 season. His 2-way event, which is often the stepping stone to 4-way training and competition, even had a 30% increase last year. He had one of the larger events in December when 19 ICL participants competed in different lineups for the six highscores.

He organized the 19 participants in six teams and offered some of the newer participants experienced piece partners in their lineups. The six teams completed ten rounds during the event, including specific block training and techniques, and also the six December sequences of the Indoor Cloud League. The December leaderboard from iFLY Dallas also features the lineup variations and the internal competition of the six teams for the December highscores.
