Did You Know...

... that Ranch 2nd Generation have a competitive reunion this week?

Ranch 2nd Generation at Paraclete XP in 2016
posted Feb 17th, 2025 - U.S. team Ranch 2nd Generation (R2G) has been a part of NSL News coverage since 2015 when the team was founded, including NSL Live Talk first time in March 2016 when Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards, Christopher Kuhlmann and Joey Marshall (Point) competed at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship and won the AA/Intermediate Class competition.

The footprints that the team and its members left in U.S. Formation Skydiving competition were so significant that the coverage continued even when R2G did not come back after the USPA Nationals 2019. In fact, it was impossible to drop the coverage of the team members, as they all followed up with world championship titles later, Christopher Kuhlmann and Joey Marshall twice in 2022 and 2024 with Arizona Airspeed, Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards in 2024 with XPG4 in 4-way Women.

Jeana Billings, who spent one year (2019) with Ranch 2nd Generation, has been Michelle Karamon's and Brenn Richards' XPG4 team mate since 2021, and together they won the world championship title in 4-way Women last year. The four R2G team mates spent two years together (2016 - 2017) before youngest and original member of 2015, Brenn Richards, took three years off to go to school. The NSL News covered her comeback for XPG4 with the update on 27 January 2021. It took the four R2G team mates of 2016 eight years from their AA/Intermediate Class competition at Paraclete XP to winning world championship titles in 2024.

Tunnel Vision at the Wind Games 2025
Ranch 2nd Generation at Skydive Paraclete XP in 2019
The separation of the R2G lineups of 2016 - 2019 happened when Joey Marshall and Chris Kuhlmann were recruited by Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine for the new Arizona Airspeed lineup. They won two outdoor world meets and have their names twice on the legendary William H. Ottley Sword for the 4-way world champions, the 4-way Excalibur, and they have taken over the management of the new Airspeed lineup with two new members.

Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards and Jeana Billings joined XPG4 forces with Jennifer Davidson last year to win the FAI gold medals at Crystal Coast and then discontinued the 4-way Women team. However, at least the three former R2G team mates only changed their plans for the near future. Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards switch to 4-way Open Class training and competition, while Jeana Billings is developing the next XP8 lineup to defend the world's top position in 8-way.

The new and recent moves have already happened. The new XP8 lineup is in development, while Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards have even completed their first competition with new 4-way Open Class indoor team, Tunnel Vision (Niklas Hemlin, Keith Conner). Their new start into 4-way Open Class competition was very promising after the ten rounds at the Wind Games 2025. Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards are actually only back to 4-way Open Class training and competition, where they spent their first three years together with Ranch 2nd Generation, and where the competition is much tighter and on a higher level than in 4-way Women.

XPG4 at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024
There are no gender limitations in 4-way Open, and Tunnel Vision has an equal proportion between female and male team members. Tunnel Vision broke through the 30-average benchmark at their first indoor competition (30.8) in Spain, while XPG4 had a 27.6 average in their records as the highest number, once with Anna Brunner, the second time with Jennifer Davidson.

The R2G lineup of 2016 - 2017 will be back on the AAA/Open Class leaderboard again this week at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025, and it will not be a friendly reunion, at least not on the leaderboard. None of the R2G members have competed against each other yet, as they qualified for different categories at the meets that Arizona Airspeed and XPG4 both attended.

This will change at the national indoor championship where Arizona Airspeed (Joey Marshall, Chris Kuhlmann) and Tunnel Vision (Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards) both want to win the competition with their own teams.

The NSL News has a special feature for the occasion. Kamuran "Sonic" Bayrasli was the legendary team videographer and biggest fan of Ranch 2nd Generation. He is now switching to a different camera, which will be set up for NSL Live Talk, first time at the upcoming indoor competition. Be ready for a more entertaining version of the interviews.
