Did You Know...

... that XPG4 continue with a new lineup at the indoor world championship?

Sonic's NSL Live Talk with Tunnel Vision
posted Feb 26th, 2025 - NSL Live Talk with Tunnel Vision was a part of Kamuran "Sonic" Bayrasli's agenda at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025. He interviewed the team before the battle between the four U.S. teams began, where the indoor team finished in 3rd place behind guest team Aethers Medjay and the new U.S. indoor champions, the Golden Knights.

It was a natural topic in the conversation that covered the history and future of the team members. Niklas Hemlin is still reigning 4-way Open Class indoor and outdoor world champion after his time with Arizona Airspeed, and Keith Conner was his domestic opponent when he trained and competed with SDC Rhythm XP.

Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards have been team mates before with Ranch 2nd Generation and were never opponents. Together they also won the outdoor world championship title in 4-way Women with XPG4 at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships at Crystal Coast in October last year. XPG4 decided not to continue, and Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards agreed to join the indoor lineup that Niklas Hemlin planned to launch after his time with Arizona Airspeed.

Tunnel Vision - Buc-ee's and Boot-ee's at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025
27.6 average: XPG4 lineup of 2023
Niklas Hemlin and Keith Conner did not qualify for this year's indoor world championship with Tunnel Vision who could have only become the national indoor team for 2026. However, Tunnel Vision ended up behind the Golden Knights, after defeating the U.S. Army team at the Wind Games and before they were back for the next ten indoor rounds at Paraclete XP.

Niklas Hemlin won the national indoor championship title last year and would be qualified for the indoor world championship in April, where Arizona Airspeed will compete for the U.S. delegation if Joey Marshall and Chris Kuhlmann can attract Niklas Hemlin or Mikhail Markine to join the lineup with Doug Hendrix. Alisson de Vargas is not eligible yet to compete for the United States.

Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards won the 4-way Women qualification with XPG4 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2024, together with Jeana Billings and Morgan Womble. They plan to be a part of the U.S. delegation for the upcoming indoor world championship, as they explained during the NSL Live Talk with Sonic. They are still in a similar situation as Arizona Airspeed who need one of last year's team members to be eligible for the FAI event, according to the U.S. qualification and the FAI eligibility rules.

27.6 average: XPG4 lineup of 2024
Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards have a new XPG4 lineup, which includes one of their former team mates, Anna Brunner, and new member Laura Galdamez. Either Jeana Billings or Morgan Womble have to be registered for the alternate slot to qualify XPG4 as the national team in 4-way Women.

XPG4 placed 2nd at the previous indoor world championship in Slovakia 2023, with Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards, Anna Brunner and Jeana Billings in the lineup. That's where they posted the still standing 27.6 team record average, which was matched by the 2024 lineup at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024, with Jennifer Davidson for Anna Brunner.

Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards and Anna Brunner have obviously performed on exactly the same scoring level, which means medal contention in the 4-way Women event. The world-class 3-way now have less than two months to train new member Laura Galdamez to the same medal level. Laura Galdamez from Texas is one of the recent 4-way shooting stars in the United States, and she competed with Buc-ee's and Boot-ee's at the national indoor championship. The new XPG4 lineup have a busy indoor training schedule until Round 1 of the next Paraclete XP competition. China and NFTO won gold and silver at the last FAI indoor competition, and France will be back with a strong lineup, as well. The 4-way Women leaderboard seems to promise exciting competition, as well.
