Did You Know...

... that teams from Slovakia had once again their own national indoor championship?

Hurricane Factory Tatralandia in Slovakia
posted Mar 5th, 2025 - Teams from Slovakia have visited the neighboring Czech Republic for many years to compete at Jan Klapka's meets of the Czech Tunnel League at the Hurricane Factory in Prague. The Skydive University Slovakia team was probably the first one to join the events at the Hurricane Factory in Prague in 2016.

Jan Klapka had launched his 4-way events as soon as the Hurricane Factory in Prague was ready for indoor action in 2011. The Hurricane Factory built the second Tatralandia facility in Slovakia two years later, while the indoor 4-way leagues (ICL/WTL) in Prague were still offering the more attractive opportunities for teams in the area of the former Czechoslovakia.

The success of Jan Klapka's 4-way projects at the Hurricane Factory Prague have been well documented by the NSL News. Yesterday's update pointed out that Skywalkers Junior, one of the many 4-way teams and competitors who have gone through his 4-way junior school, are on their way to become a world class indoor and outdoor 4-way team. The Hurricane Factory Tatralandia was in operation for almost a whole decade when the management decided to bid for hosting the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023. The NSL News covered the event live from Liptovsky Mikulas where the Tatralandia amusement park is located.

Kiss My Grips in 2023 and 2025
Wind4ce lineup in January and February
Skydive University Slovakia team was not active any longer at the time of the indoor world championship. The hosting country was represented by Kiss My Grips in 4-way Women, and by SDU GenZ in 4-way Junior.

The 4-way Women team Kiss My Grips was formed for the indoor world championship in 2023, and the original team members have continued ever since, including field trips to the Czech Open Indoor Championship 2025 in January and to the Belgian Indoor Nationals 2025 in February.

The Slovakian teams had their own leaderboards of national indoor championships at the NSL website twice, first in 2019, then again in 2022. This year's indoor championship leaderboard features a total of 13 teams in three NSL categories. Kiss My Grips were back on the AAA Class leaderboard, together with Slovakian team Das Nächste Fenster and two visiting teams from the Czech Republic, Crazy Dragons and Wind4ce.

Complete Panthers lineup
Kiss My Grips member Ivica Just had double duties once again on the same leaderboard, with her 4-way Women team and family team Das Nächste Fenster, and the two Slovakian teams did not hurt each other too much, while both could not keep up with the Czech 4-way power.

In fact, the Wind4ce lineup in 2nd place included former Slovakian SDU GenZ 4-way junior member Patricia Herdicky. She and 5th Skywalkers Junior member Michal Mikolacek joined forces once again with two of the Czech Panthers, Pavla Mlynkova and Mikolas Velicka.

Wind4ce with the same lineup had competed at the Czech Open Indoor Championship 2025 where the two Panthers had double duties on the AAA (Wind4ce) and AA (Panthers) leaderboards. Wind4ce won by four points (165 - 161) over Kiss My Grips in January and have increased their meet average by two points. Kiss My Grips finished with a new team record average last week, as well (16.9) which was still not enough to keep in touch with Wind4ce. Skywalkers Junior member Michal Mikolacek has enough time at the moment to player-coach Wind4ce, as the Czech national 4-way team is training with an unchanging lineup for the indoor world championship. Crazy Dragons were back withe same lineup and player-coach Martina Vavackova, as well. Aneta Parizkova and Elen Zielinska are the other two Panthers who entertain themselves with more AAA Class sequences and player-coaches.
