Have You Heard...

... that the unofficial 4-way amateur title could be more contended than ever at Paraclete XP?

FAI bronze for Qatar in China 2024: Tigers
posted Mar 17th, 2025 - The first NSL Power Rankings for the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 were posted with the preview on March 10th. The complete list of registered national teams now allows a more realistic overview, beginning with the expected leaderboard in the 4-way Open category.

There are no big surprises regarding the actual participation of countries. In fact, each of the ten countries in the Top 10 positions of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024 have registered 4-way Open Class teams for the indoor world championship, as well. Only two of the ten national teams are not the same who competed in China last April.

The NSL News reported earlier that Qatar will not be represented by the Qatar Tigers any longer, who won the FAI bronze medals in China. However, the new national team in 4-way Open, the Qatar Lions, competed in China, as well, and they finished within the Top 10 with a 25.2 average. The Lions can be expected to move up in the rankings and finish closely behind the medal rankings. Crazy Dragons competed for the Czech Republic in China, and they will make room for the strongest Czech 4-way team, the Skywalkers Junior. The youngest 4-way Open Class team in the world is expected to join the contenders for the unofficial amateur world championship title and the battle for the 4th place behind the medal rankings.

NFTO at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024 and at the British Indoor Nationals 2024
For Czech Republic in China: Crazy Dragons
The position of the unofficial amateur world championship title could be more contended for than ever before. It is possible that eight national teams will join the battle for the 4th place, according to the previously posted scores at any and all indoor events. Only Aethers Medjay (FR), NMP PCH HayaBusa (BE) and Arizona Airspeed (US) seem to have the best chances to win the three sets of FAI indoor medals.

However, it is very likely that some of the teams behind the medal rankings may steal highscores for a round here and there from the medal contenders, except from the French national team in 4-way Open, Aethers Medjay. The French guest team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025 won nine of the ten rounds at Paraclete XP and finished 28 points ahead of the best U.S. team.

Neither Arizona Airspeed nor NMP PCH HayaBusa seem to be in the position to challenge Aethers Medjay seriously at this point in time. The battle between the new Airspeed lineup, with Niklas Hemlin back in his outside center slot, and NMP PCH HayaBusa, with new member Ray Lodens in the point slot, could become one of the highlights next month. The 4-way experts in the NSL News audience may have detected an unusual situation in the 7-team field behind the medal positions on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard. British 4-way Women team NFTO is registered for the 4-way Open Class competition.

Winner at British Indoor Nationals 2024: NFTO
NFTO still won the silver medals in 4-way Women at the last FAI/ISC indoor competition in China, after an extra round to break the tie with U.S. team XPG4. China is once again registered with a team in 4-way Women and will probably run away from the rest of the field even further than on their home chamber in China.

NFTO will not be an opponent for China in 4-way Women, as they have a male member in the lineup. Pete Allum joins Vana Parker, Anna Lea and Julis Swallow, who competed together last time at the British Indoor Nationals 2024 where they won the AAA Class competition over Chimera.

Julia Swallow trained and competed with NFTO between 2000 and 2022, and she was Pete Allum's team mate with Satori XL years ago. Together they also won the British Outdoor Nationals 2024 with SOAR, and Julia Swallow followed up with NFTO at the British Indoor Nationals 2024. Now they joined NFTO forces with Vana Parker and Anna Lea for the indoor world championship in 4-way Open, where they will most likely be one of the contenders for the 4th place.
