Did You Know...

... that NMP PCH HayaBusa sent a strong message in Round 10?

4-way Open awards

posted Apr 14th, 2025 - The medal positions in 4-way Open and the race for the unofficial amateur world championship title did not change at all in the remaining two rounds of the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025. Arizona Airspeed even increased the lead over NMP PCH HayaBusa, and the Belgians finally had enough of this and put everything they currently have to offer into Round 10.

Result was HayaBusa's first sole highscore in the whole competition with a clear message to their opponents in the coming two years. They outscored Aethers Medjay and Arizona Airspeed both, even after three point deductions. SkyWalkers Junior finished off the rest of the 4-way Open Class field with another amateur highscore in Round 10.

The situation was not clear at all in 4-way Women after Round 8 on Friday. China was one point ahead, even after the highest total of point deductions (20). The French Nephtys, with only four busts after Round 8, won Round 9 by four points and were three points ahead going into the final round. China then won Round 10 by six points and took the gold medals in 4-way Women with the event's record number of 25 point deductions. China's 36-pointer in Round 10 was also enough to push Skywalkers Junior from the 4th place in 4-way Open to the 5th place on the combined AAA leaderboard. Patricia Zara Herdicky provided once again her observations and a summary of the 4-way Open Class competition from Slovakia. The NSL News will follow up later with new NSL Live Talk and a closer look at the 8-way leaderboard.

And with that, Day 3 of WISC 2025 approaches its last few moments, with the closing ceremony just around the corner. Finals day did not disappoint in the slightest and provided a banger of live action the entire time! The French Aethers Medjay (Damien Gouriou, Tom Mattoni, Mathieu Quizy, Alban Rumolo) have claimed their first ever World Indoor Skydiving Championship title after waiting in the shadows of the US and Belgium for so many years. In the end, team USA ( Niklas Hemlin, Doug Hendrix, Christopher Kuhlmann, Joey Marshall) clenched the 2nd place position from Belgium after a clinical performance in the 2nd half of the competition draw.

Niklas Hemlin jumped back in to the services of Arizona Airspeed for this competition meet since Alisson de Vargas was not yet eligible to represent the colours of the United States. B is for bronze, as Belgium take their first WISC medal position since their lineup change back in August 2023. They showed us high quality technique and a blazing last round. The potential is there and I’m sure that they are a team to count on when it comes to fighting for the gold in the upcoming years.

Unofficial amateur world champions: Skywalkers Junior
Patricia Zara Herdicky on Saturday
Just out of the the medal positions, a surprise was born. The youngest participants of the whole meet, the Skywalkers Jr. (Krystof Rulf, Antonin Ondracek, Filip Lukavec, Martin Stransky) brought an admirable performance to the scene and showed everybody that they are a force to be reckoned with. They smashed the Czech record books, finishing only a point away from breaking the 30-average. These boys have only been training in this particular lineup for not even two years. And already in such a short period of time, they are proving to be the real deal here. Under the guidance of Jan “Gejza” Klapka, with the assistance of world class coach David Grawuels, these youngsters are for sure going places.

The midfield wasn't holding back either. The gap between 5th and 8th palce was only six points! NFTO and Fly X Amnesya ended up sharing the 5th place position, with Qatar Lions only a point behind the duo. The Swedes and Spaniards have gone neck to neck, with Echochamber finishing in front. Out of the Blue closed up the Top 10, followed by the Swiss, Brazil, Singapore, and finally Thailand. And that’s a wrap for this year’s World Indoor Skydiving Championships 2025 in Raeford NC. A competition meet full of emotion, hype, team spirit and drive. Cheers to Paraclete XP! Next year: WCIS 2026 Weembi Lille France.
