Did You Know...

... that five different teams won the five $200 skins at the Shamrock?

$200 skin for SDC Rhythm XP in Round 7
posted Apr 21st, 2025 - The Shamrock Showdown 2025 was not over until the traditional Skins Game was completed. Skydive DeLand sponsored the event once again with a total of $2,000 cash for prize money. Half of it goes to the teams in the Top 3 positions ($500 - $300 - $200) according to the raw scores after Round 10.

French national team Aethers earned the $500 with a historic performance after ten rounds without any point deductions. The Golden Knights would have won the $300 for the 2nd place over Arizona Airspeed and donated the prize money back into the funds. It was forwarded to the only 8-way team in DeLand, the Netunos from Brazil. Arizona Airspeed collected the $200 for the 3rd place.

Five different teams shared the other half of the prize money, which rewards the teams with the best specific performance for a single round, beginning in Round 6. The scores for the first five rounds define each team's scoring average and a handicap number that is mathematically related to the team in 1st place. The handicap is being adjusted after each round, according to the new scoring average. Each round's score after handicap indicates indirectly the performance quality at the same time. Most often, the winners of a skin have a clean round on the team's specific top performance level, which was the case for all five teams who won the five available $200 skins for Rounds 6 - 10.

$200 skin for Arizona Airspeed in Round 9

The results of the Shamrock Showdown Skins Game are showing how close to each other the teams finished after application of the handicap. The winning margin is often less than a point. The winner of the 10-round competition, Aethers, were still able to take their own $200 skin, even though they performed each round without a handicap.

Aethers won nine of the ten rounds with their raw scores and did not suffer any point deductions at all. Their winning score after handicap in Round 6 was the only one rewarded with a $200 skin, and it was still highly contested, as well. SDC Rhythm XP was less than a point (32.00 - 31.86) behind the French team, and Arizona Airspeed were another 2/100 of a point behind Rhythm.

SDC Rhythm XP were showing their best performance in Round 7 with a technical sequence of three blocks (6,13,1) and won their $200 skin. Arizona Airspeed won Round 9 after handicap. Germany's Airbus Illertissen (Round 8) and Florida team 4Action (Round 10) won the remaining two $200 skins. All winning scores had no point deductions on the score sheets, which was normal operation for Aethers. They made history at Skydive DeLand with ten clean rounds. Only the Golden Knights were able to steal the highscore for one round, and they tied another French score, both rounds with clean score sheets, as well.
