posted Jun 18th, 2025 - The previous NSL News update featured the two-week long joint training venture of the Golden Knights 4-way team and their Belgian guests, NMP PCH HayaBusa. It included a video that HayaBusa videographer David Grauwels recorded of a special 8-way jump earlier in the training camp.

A day later after the first visit of the NSL News at the Golden Knights headquarters David Grauwels was filming a very different situation from the Twin Otter. HayaBusa tail Jeroen Nollet had a cutaway after the completion of four training jumps, and his main parachute could not be recovered easily.

NMP PCH HayaBusa and Golden Knights both interrupted their training day, and the Twin Otter went on a reconnaissance mission to help spotting the parachute, with David Grauwels on board, who was filming the area this time where the landed main parachute was estimated to be found. This mission was not as successful as the joint training camp, as heavy rain in the past days had turned the surrounding landscape into a swamp. Dennis Praet's team mates, including David Grauwels, were still on the search mission in the swampy area and returned empty-handed and soaked in water and sweat, when Dennis Praet and Jesse Stahler had just finished up their NSL Live Talk conversation, now much later than planned.

Dennis Praet and Jesse Stahler explained how the idea of this special training camp was developed. Jesse Stahler said that the Golden Knights have been training in Laurinburg since the early 2000's. The visit of NMP PCH HayaBusa in Laurinburg was not the first one. Dennis Praet was at the same place in 2016 with the Belgian 4-way world champions of 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2021, when David Grauwels was still the team's inside center and Jeroen Nollet the new HayaBusa tail.

Jesse Stahler remembered that NMP PCH HayaBusa had valuable information for the Golden Knights 4-way Women team who won the gold medals at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2016. Jesse Stahler won 8-way gold at the same event, Dennis Praet and David Grauwels their second consecutive world championship title in 4-way Open.

The recent cooperation between Belgian and U.S. military teams was not created for the purpose of sharing 4-way knowledge and experiences mutually. Jesse Stahler and Dennis Praet agree that the situation is different compared to the time when NMP PCH HayaBusa was dominating the world's 4-way competition between 2014 and 2021. NMP PCH HayaBusa and Golden Knights both are trying to catch up with the current dominating leader from France, the Aethers, the Belgian team after the changes in the lineup. Jesse Stahler also had more details available of the history with the baton that he handed to Dennis Praet in freefall. Both teams continue training together until Friday. NMP PCH HayaBusa have scheduled the return trip to Belgium for Saturday when the Golden Knights are facing Arizona Airspeed again at Paraclete XP's Summer Classic.
