Did You Know...

... that British and Czech teams shared leaderboards last weekend?

Skywalkers Junior over Most
posted Jul 7th, 2025 - A total of 14 teams shared last weekend's synchronized NSL competition draw, ten at the third meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League in Netheravon, four at the second meet of the Czech Republic Skydiving League in Most.

It was a small AAA Class leaderboard with three teams, which still offered some interesting insights. Two of the three teams are registered for the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 and posted their first outdoor scores of the year. Skywalkers Junior and British Army Volt4ge took on the same AAA Class sequences in Netheravon and Most before they will face each other directly at Skydive Teuge at the end of August.

They will jump from the same Cessna Caravans at the outdoor world cup that were lifting the British 4-way teams to jump altitude in Netheravon. It is the home plane for the British Army teams, including Volt4ge, while Skywalkers Junior exited as usual from the PAC 750XL in Most. The exits from the PAC 750XL were not the only challenge for Skywalkers Junior in Most. Jan Klapka reported from the competition site that two team members were also dealing with a sudden illness that even forced the team to skip Round 5 due to a total loss of wellness and energy.

Skywalkers Junior - M Team at the July meet of the Czech Skydiving League

The first page of the other nine Skywalkers Junior rounds were heavily compromised by the exits and the subterminal phase from the challenging PAC 750XL door, including a complete exit funnel in Round 7, which had even more impact on the score than Arizona Airspeed's exit in Round 9 of the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2025.

Skywalkers Junior, including their team videographer Jakub Klapka, will be looking forward to the exits from the Cessna Caravans at Skydive Teuge, while British Army Volt4ge are looking back at their highest outdoor meet average (10.3) in the NSL News records. Only the four point deductions in the four completed rounds kept Volt4ge from posting their first 11-point average.

Both AAA Class teams from Great Britain and Czech Republic are expected to compete in different groups of teams next month in the Netherlands. Skywalkers Junior will probably have a good chance to make the Top 10 at Skydive Teuge, or aim even higher with better exits and subterminal pages. Volt4ge represent Great Britain for the first time at an FAI event and can expect their opponents behind the Top 10 contenders. Three of the four Czech teams in Most were able to complete all ten rounds. Only Atom+ missed the last two rounds of their exciting duel with TNT.

The combined AAA and AA leaderboards also feature two rounds where the sequences for the two different categories were identical. AAA Class team Volt4ge competed indirectly with AA Class team Nakama in Round 2 and Round 3. Both teams tied their 11-pointers in Round 2, and Volt4ge won Round 3 by one point with another 11-pointer, even after two point deductions.

Nakama finished with the team's first 10+ average in the AA Class and confirmed their position as one of the AA Class top contenders at the national outdoor championship right after the FAI World Cup. The NSL News reported on June 4th that the 10+ level has brought British 4-way teams into medal contention in the past. Volt4ge and Nakama both eventually finished with the same total of 41 points, as well.

Back in the Czech Republic, Jan Klapka also congratulated AA Class team TNT for defeating Atom+ at their second meet this year. Atom+ is an outdoor team exclusively, while TNT participated only at indoor competition since November 2024. The June meet in Prostejov was the first time that both teams met outdoors, and they battled again a month later. Jan Klapka also reported that Skywalkers Junior have not trained outdoors much this year so far. Three training days before the July meet was not enough to master exits and subterminal pages, and the illness of team members did not make it any easier. The Czech national team still has almost eight weeks to get well prepared for the outdoor world cup.
