Did You Know...

... that Norway's Thyra have become the top contender for silver in Teuge?

Agera Oceanside at the national outdoor championship
posted Aug 11th, 2025 - The unofficial NSL Power Rankings for the upcoming FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 were recently adjusted after input during NSL Live Talk with Gary Smith. The changes included a split of the previously seven teams in pursuit of the precious 4th place, after the withdrawal of Qatar's 4-way teams Lions and Cheetahs.

The remaining seven teams turned into a group of four teams right behind the medal contenders and the three other teams who will have the same or similar goals, and who also have to defend their expected Top 10 positions at the same time. One of the Top 10 teams, Norway's national team in 4-way Open, Agera Oceanside, still had their national outdoor championship at the beginning of August before traveling to Skydive Teuge in the Netherlands soon.

Agera is one of the five European teams in the Top 10 who will try to challenge the two U.S. teams (SDC Rhythm XP, XPG4) for the 4th place. Echochamber (SE) and Skywalkers Most (CZ) are the strongest European opponents, according to Gary Smith's recent update. However, Agera was just providing up-to-date evidence that they may be ready to get to the 20-average threshold at the right time, as they performed on the 19+ average level, disregarding the six point deductions. The two U.S. teams behind the Golden Knights can probably be expected on the 20+ level. Even Echochamber and Skywalkers Most will have to show their best in Teuge to have a chance and take the 4th place.

Norway Outdoor Nationals 2025: Agera Oceanside - Thyra
Thyra at the ESL Championship 2022
The Norwegian 4-way AAA/Open Class leaderboard is showing both national teams in the first two places, 4-way Women team Thyra in 2nd place behind Agera. The NSL News reported on July 10th that Thyra had also registered for the 4-way Women competition at the outdoor world cup.

The team project was launched in 2022, and the first lineup (Kristina Aarvold, Julia Heimdall-Hansen, Camilla Marnor, Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv, Dennis Barstad on camera), with new member Silvana Disch and Agera member Julian Frayne filling an open slot, collected their first international meet experiences at the ESL Championship the same year.

Thyra continued in 2023 with Silvana Disch, Camilla Marnor, Alice Solberg, Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv, Dennis Barstad still on camera, and won European FAI bronze medals at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 in Voss, Norway. The same lineup made plans for 2024 and posted two 13.8 averages the same year. They they ended up with a 13.2 average at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024 after a last-minute change in the lineup. Silvana Disch could not compete at the outdoor world championship, where Ditta Valsdottir stepped into her slot at the last minute.

Vossvind Girls at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2019
Silvana Disch and Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv came back this year, with two new team mates and Dennis Barstad once again on the Thyra camera. Anna Fasting and Vilde Hansen competed with Thyra at Norway's national indoor championship in March, posted the 13.8 outdoor average earlier this month and are now getting ready for the outdoor world cup.

New member Anna Fasting has collected her 4-way experiences with a few teams since 2019 (Humleswing, Gloriasses). New member Vilde Hansen was a member of the former 4-way Junior and 4-way Women team VossVind Girls, who outscored Thyra at Norway's national indoor championship of 2022.

The new Thyra lineup matched the team's previous 13.8 record average after just a few months of outdoor training. There is a very good chance that the scores at Skydive Teuge will be even higher, which would most likely secure the FAI silver medals in 4-way Women at the outdoor world cup. The two U.S. teams in the same category have posted 9.9 (XP Angels in June) and 8.8 (Perris 4ever this month). Realistically, they will compete for the bronze medals with Dutch team Funky Falcons, and the NSL Power Rankings in 4-way Women have changed after Norway's outdoor championship.
