Did You Know...

... that Aethers Lille and Nephtys Maubeuge confirmed scoring level after Round 10?

Last Minute competitor: Mathieu Bernier (left)
posted Aug 25th, 2025 - The French AAA Class teams completed all ten rounds in Bouloc, and the last two rounds gave Aethers Lille and Nephtys Maubeuge the opportunity to finish on the expected impressive performance levels, even though Aethers did not get to the 26.1 average at the Shamrock Showdown 2025, which came along with the historic scoresheet of zero point deductions.

The French judges deducted five points in Bouloc, which kept Aethers from posting their usual 25+ average level. Nephtys Maubeuge eventually confirmed their 20+ average level with the new lineup after all ten rounds.

The final test of the French national teams in 4-way Open (Aethers) and 4-way Women (Nephtys) before the upcoming FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 also confirmed that the French delegation will most likely claim the two sets of gold medals in these events. National coach Mathieu Bernier observed the performances of his national 4-way teams from an active competitor position this time. He filled an open slot for the AAA Class team Last Minute who finished in 4th place on the same leaderboard. Mathieu Bernier is also the alternate for Aethers, who needed him at last year's Shamrock Showdown when outside center Tom Mattoni got injured right before the competition.

Aethers Lille - Nephtys Maubeuge at the French Outdoor Nationals 2025
Upgraded: Les Hermines
The newly adjusted NSL Power Rankings are showing no changes on the top half of the leaderboard after the French outdoor championship. Aethers Lille are still expected to win in 4-way Open, and Nephtys Maubeuge will compare their performance with the 4-way Open Class teams. There is still no serious opponent in 4-way Women. The 20-average benchmark that they set for the teams behind the medal positions in 4-way Open is probably a realistic goal for taking the 4th place.

The results from France still changed the NSL Power Rankings in the lower half of the leaderboard. The NSL News mentioned the 12.8 team record average of Les Hermines in the first update with scores from France.

Les Hermines moved from the bottom of the leaderboard to become the leader of the teams who are expected to finish behind the twelve Top 10 contenders. Les Hermines passed the British 4-way Open Class teams (British Army Volt4ge, Axis) who posted their own scores last weekend. The scoring history of Chop Chop! from Australia and Les Hermines is now promising an exciting competition for the top position in this group of teams. Round 1 of the outdoor world cup is scheduled for Friday morning for all events in formation skydiving competition.
