Did You Know...

... that the 4-way leaderboard is in motion?

Golden Knights at the Shamrock Showdown 2025
posted Sep 1st, 2025 - The 4-way leaderboards are in motion at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025, even though the weather does not cooperate well so far. Each round has the potential to bring changes in the rankings, as the teams are close enough to each other all across the 4-way leaderboards.

One more round was completed in 4-way, which did not change the rankings in the 4-way Open Class medal positions after Round 5 yet. However, it still featured a very outstanding situation, which has been seen only once since the French national team in 4-way Open, Aethers Lille, took the world's top spot.

Aethers Lille have given away a few indoor rounds since the beginning of the year, a total of five exactly, out of 40, one at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025, the other ones at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025. A penalty for the French team had allowed three U.S. teams (Golden Knights, Tunnel Vision, Arizona Airspeed) to win a round at Paraclete XP in February, and they lost three rounds to a modified Airspeed lineup at the same place in April. NMP PCH HayaBusa took their turn in the last round of the indoor world championship. Then the Golden Knights were the first team to win an outdoor round at the Shamrock Showdown 2025.

NMP PCH HayaBusa's Round 5 at Skydive Teuge
Catching up: XP Angels
The Golden Knights tied the French highscore in one of the first four rounds at Skydive Teuge, while NMP PCH HayaBusa performed a flawless sequence in Round 5 and outscored Aethers by a point. HayaBusa's 30-pointer was not only the sole highscore. It also reduced the previous 4-point distance to the Golden Knights significantly by three points.

HayaBusa then used the momentum to change the ranking positions, as well. They jumped ahead of the Golden Knights after winning Round 6 by two more points over the U.S. Army team. Aethers Lille responded adequately though and won Round 6 by a whole Block 10 (Diamond - Bunyip) over HayaBusa.

Nephtys Maubeuge and Thyra maintained their positions on the combined 4-way leaderboard, while XP Angels have moved up to the bronze medal position in 4-way Women after a very slow start. There is still only a 1-point difference between the three teams teams behind Nephtys and Thyra. Round 6 continued with the shaking up of the leaderboard on all ends. The leaderboard is not complete yet. Four teams are still missing, while the available scores are already showing what happened. NMP PCH HayaBusa have taken the 2nd place, and Skywalkers Junior are holding their ground tied in the 4th place, which Echochamber gave away in Round 6.
