posted Sep 8th, 2025 - Teams and competitors at the German Outdoor Nationals 2025 are waiting for better weather at the Skyfactory in Stadtlohn. The weather situation is similar to the conditions that meet director Ronald Overdijk had to deal with at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025. It's the last training day before Round 1 for the 4-way teams in Germany, and the competition draw is scheduled for this evening.

The NSL News has time to go back to the outdoor world cup and to parts of the competition that are not always making the top headlines. However, the competition for the Top 10 spots on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard has always been a topic for the NSL News, and once again it offered the expected excitement for the involved teams.

Three teams were in contention for the last open slot in the Top 10, and each of them actually owned it for at least a round. The Spanish national 4-way Open Class team, with the military CISM lineup of Papea, had a 1-point lead over Belgian team Ayro after Round 4 at the end of the first day. Dutch home team Out Of The Blue were in 12th place at the same point in time. Ayro took the 10th place away from Papea and staid ahead of them until the end of the competition. Ayro also maintained the 10th place throughout Round 6, until OOTB launched their sprint towards the finish line and posted highscores of this group beginning in Round 6. They took the lead and the 10th place away from Ayro in Round 7 and finished three points ahead of the neighbors from Belgium.

Papea at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025

Papea had the strongest start into the 3-team competition for the 10th place and ended up two points behind Ayro after Round 10. It was the new Papea lineup, with three returning members of the past years (Miguel Antonio Gomez Rivas, José Carlos González Herrera, Oscar Marsal Hernandez), who competed at Skydive Teuge, with their new team mate Ivan Garcia Estrada Mateo.

Papea with their well trained previous lineup had their strongest showing at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024, where they finished in 4th place ahead of Echochamber. They pointed out the event in China as their best competition. The new lineup is working again on getting closer to the positions behind the medal contenders.

The military team will also compete at the CISM World Championship 2025 in Qatar, where they meet again with Golden Knights and NMP PCH HayaBusa, medal winners at Skydive Teuge. Qatar's Tigers will probably compete with both teams for the CISM medals, and Papea have become used to ending up in 4th place behind the 4-way experts. The Papea members explained that they cannot just focus on the CISM 4-way competition, as they also participate in the other military events, such as Style and Accuracy. The Qatar Tigers did not compete at the outdoor world cup, where Aethers Lille took the first place for France. Belgium, United States and Qatar will probably take the CISM medal positions, and Papea will have to fend off other strong 4-way teams to defend their 4th place successfully.
