posted Sep 10th, 2025 - The Super Sequence in Round 8 of the Germany Outdoor Nationals 2025 is naturally not only the topic for the NSL News. Teams, competitors and judges are anticipating the rare opportunity of counting a lot of scoring points in only one round. Airbus coach Michele Silvi had plenty of information, thoughts and experiences with a Super Sequence, and he shared it with the NSL News on Tuesday when there was more than enough time.

The weather did not cooperate much at all on the first day of the competition. Eventually, at the very end of the day, meet director Helmut Bastuck was able to call the 4-way teams to the jump planes and the completion of Round 1. He is indirectly related to a Super Sequence, as well, as his son Markus Bastuck was in the Paratec-Saar lineup who still own the German record for a single round, the 53-pointer at the FAI World Championship 2010.

Helmut Bastuck has even more indirect responsibility, as he will call the teams to the planes again for Round 8. There is no guarantee yet that the Super Sequence will be performed at all, as the weather situation could force the meet to be over earlier. The meet director surely has no influence on the weather situation, and Helmut Bastuck is known for getting the most out of any conditions, no matter how challenging they are. His wife Franziska Bastuck is supporting him as usual in Stadtlohn. They used to run the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar together for a long time and hosted many high-level events and 4-way teams. Airbus 4-way Illertissen Oceanside have the potential to challenge Markus Bastuck's standing record for a single round with a good performance in Round 8, and the whole Bastuck family will watch it very carefully if the competition advances to that point.

Super Sequence in Round 8

The Airbus 4-way team began early to get ready for the golden opportunity in Round 8. Coach Michele Silvi advised them to prepare mind and body well ahead of time for the Super Sequence. In fact, the preparations began even on the creepers right after Round 1 was out of the way. There was more than enough time on Tuesday to go through the engineering of all ten rounds and give Round 1 and Round 8 additional attention.

Michele Silvi provided the NSL News with more insights during the next conversation with the NMP PCH HayaBusa world champions of 2021. He witnessed the standing 62-point world record for a single round that NMP PCH HayaBusa's signature lineup (Andy Grauwels, David Grauwels, Jeroen Nollet, Dennis Praet, Luc Van Britsom on camera) performed at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2018. He was competing with Italy's national 4-way Open Class team Amnesya at the same event who scored 48 points for the same Super Sequence. Markus Bastuck and current Airbus team captain Thomas Mack together scored a 45-pointer at the same event.

Wednesday morning has not offered jumping conditions yet, as the time period after the rainy weather began with fog. However, Round 1 of the AAA Class competition offered right away the anticipated situation with the expected battles. Airbus are already out of reach after one round, while the three teams behind are close enough to each other for an exciting competition. The remaining three teams have the second battle with the goal to stay away from the bottom of the AAA leaderboard.
