posted Sep 11th, 2025 - The weather is still the main problem at the German Outdoor Nationals 2025. The well oiled event machine at the Skyfactory in Stadtlohn has already shown what it can accomplish at the times when the jump planes could be sent up for competition rounds. Unfortunately, the weather conditions once again did not allow any activity on Thursday morning, and the backlog keeps piling up. The two 8-way teams have arrived and know their ten competition rounds, and the double duties will not make it any easier for meet director Helmut Bastuck to coordinate the German miniature mondial.

The NSL News has a new opportunity to go back to the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025, where the aftermath has been interrupted by the new event and the live coverage of it. This time, Brazil's 8-way team, the Netunos, require some attention and explanations.

The NSL News story on August 5th included the updated NSL Power Rankings after the Netunos had registered late for the 8-way competition. They traveled to Skydive Teuge in the Netherlands and were ready for action. In fact, they had a few days of training in the run-up to the start of the competition. However, the 8-way leaderboard did not include the Netunos, even though they were also featured on several video clips of NSL TV Unfiltered, before and throughout the competition.

Team captain Pedro Ushizima explained to the NSL News that Netuno's member João Carlos Mansur was facing an emergency situation in his business and had to go back to Brazil on August 28th, right before the start of the opening ceremony. The Netunos did not have a registered alternate at Skydive Teuge and had to withdraw from the official competition.

However, former Netunos member and coach Alisson de Vargas, newest Arizona Airspeed member, was present at the competition site to watch Airspeed's potential opponents in the future and continue his support for the Netunos. He was ready to fill the open slot, even though the Netunos would not be a part of the outdoor world cup any longer.

Meet director Ronald Overdjik allowed the Netunos to keep jumping with the substitute at Skydive Teuge, and no other delegation opposed the suggestion that the Netunos could be an unofficial part of the 8-way competition. Pedro Ushizima and his team mates were grateful that Alisson de Vargas was available to help out in the competition. The judges added the Netunos 8-way jumps unofficially to their agenda, and the scores compare directly to all other 8-way teams. The Netunos could not complete all ten rounds, as meet director Ronald Overdjik had to give the registered teams priority when the weather situation jeopardized the completion of all events. The NSL 8-way leaderboard is showing the Netunos scores and the placement unofficially.
