Did You Know...

... that Nephtys and former XPG4 members had modified rematches?

Successful French delegation at the outdoor world cup
posted Sep 14th, 2025 - The NSL News aftermath of the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 continues while the next event brings some of the teams back together who competed at Skydive Teuge in the Netherlands not long ago. The BENELUX Championship is the open Belgian national outdoor championship that includes the Dutch championship. NMP PCH HayaBusa (BE), Ayro (BE), Out Of The Blue (NL) and Funky Falcon (NL) are back in 4-way action after recently posting scores at the outdoor world cup.

OOTB had denied Ayro the last Top 10 position at the world cup by three point (175 - 172). It will be very difficult for OOTB to stay ahead of Ayro two weeks later. The Ibens family explained during a visit at Skydive Teuge on September 1st that young Siem Ibens will join the Dutch team after the world cup. He is now in the new lineup for the running competition, where Ayro have continued without any changes. Ayro are ahead by three points after Round 2.

OOTB's previous lineup won the Top 10 battle after ten exciting rounds over Ayro and Spain's Papea. However, the Dutch national team was pushed out of the Top 10 on the unofficial combined AAA Class leaderboard (4-way Open/4-way Women) when Nephtys Maubeuge finished in 4th place right behind the Open Class medal positions.

Nephtys Maubeuge - U.S. Team 1 at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025
4-way Women awards at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024
The 4th place for Nephtys Maubeuge on the combined leaderboard is the same finishing position that XPG4 had at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024. Arizona Airspeed, Aethers Lille and Qatar Tigers took the medal positions in 4-way Open at Crystal Coast, and XPG4 won the 4-way Women gold medals. The U.S. team left even NMP PCH HayaBusa behind by 15 points to finish in 4th place on the combined leaderboard.

Nephtys and XPG4 had a modified rematch on the combined leaderboard of the outdoor world cup a year later. Actually, the first modified rematch took place in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025. Both teams had different lineups at Paraclete XP, and Nephtys won by 28 points this time, three points behind the winner from China (292 - 289).

The latest modified rematch was very different, as the members of both teams competed in different events at the outdoor world cup. Nephtys Maubeuge continued in 4-way Women for France with a new lineup. Gaelle Giesen replaced Clementine LeBohec for outdoor competition in 2025, first at the national championship, followed by the outdoor world cup at Skydive Teuge. The current Nephtys had no serious opponent in 4-way Women in the Netherlands and kept their eyes on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard instead.

XPG4 - Nephtys Maubeuge at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024
4-way Women awards at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025
Former XPG4 members Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards did not even come back in 4-way Women. They joined forces with Niklas Hemlin and Craig Girard for the 4-way Open Class competition at the outdoor world cup. Their new team name, U.S. Team One, did not make it to the official FAI/ISC leaderboard, where XPG4 has still been listed.

Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards and Niklas Hemlin knew each other very well after their two meets with Tunnel Vision at the Wind Games in January and the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025 in February. Former SDC Rhythm XP member Keith Conner was the 4th Tunnel Vision member.

Craig Girard joined the same 3-way for the 4-way Open Class competition at the outdoor world cup that the Nephtys Maubeuge members were following very carefully. Both teams ended up very close to each other on the combined leaderboard, where the Nephtys took the 4th place that XPG4 finished in at the outdoor world championship last year. The U.S. team will disband again for the USPA Nationals, with no comeback of XPG4 as a 4-way Women team to be expected. All team members continue in different mixed-gender lineups, in 4-way and in 8-way. The Nephtys will switch back to indoor training and prepare with a similar lineup for the 4-way Women competition at the indoor world cup at Weembi Lille next April.
